I just turned 62 in December 2024. I wish so much that I can retire but I can’t live off of $1100.00 a month. I do not own a home, I never had a high paying job so I was not able to do a 401. So I am stuck having to work for a few more years…….if I make it. God help me!

I was in the same position. I simply worked part time and doubled my Social Security. But I didn’t have to work 40 hours a week to make the same amount of money. Being dead free is the key. 😎

Put a big note on your coffeemaker reminding you not to drink coffee or eat in the morning. That might help.😅Be sure you do get the surgeries done. Trust me, you won’t even know you are having the eye surgery. I think it will work this time. Because you sure don’t want to go blind.😢/I think you should tell everyone that you started working at age 5 (working for your stepdad), because it’s true.

@Bubba-wx7lp totally agree. I remember my dad had one, it was red, white, and blue colors like the independence flag colors. It had the tear drop windows in the side quarter panels. I would just run around in the back with no seat belt like it was normal. The memories 👍😎

62! Are you crazy? For most people that means living on $1,200 a month without medical coverage. Currently; you need between $5000 and $6000 a month to retire comfortably in the United States. Wait at least until 65 when you'll get more money and be eligible for Medicare. Hopefully you also have another pension or 401 K. That's what it takes for most Americans to retire well. Please don't end up taking a hard landing into your retirement and living in a car or van.

One of our favorite restaurants served a “cheeseburger” salad. It was SO good. But it was only on the menu a short time. I was bummed because it was tasty and better than a cheeseburger and fries!
