I've been following Baylen since January, and she is legit and has TS. She's not faking it. She just deals with her TS. Also, arly is awesome. Hopefully, you get more views. Oh, Merry Christmas Carly and your floofy dog too. Cute dog. :->

Had a friend in HS who faked Tourette's. Would tic in the middle of class, laugh at their tics and then tell everyone what they said in their tic. The same tics never sounded the same and a new one would come out every day in class. Idk if this applies to people with TS, but I have facial tics from ADHD, and if I or anyone around me verbally acknowledges them, they come out more. If I think about them or watch people tic, it makes me do it more. It's never funny to me to tic, because it makes me feel embarrassed and less normal than other people.

Baylen definetly has tourettes. Tics are different. I thinks she watches cooking shows cause the 'your done' is from a cooking show

I saw the commercial and I felt like they were almost trying to make it humorous, and after watching what you go through that seems like that’s going to do sufferers a huge disservice.

I don't have skin in this game, I don't know anyone with Tourette's and don't suffer from it myself, I just want to say that I have found that most of these "reality" show channels are exploitive (JMNSO/YYMV). I have found no redeeming value in anything that these shows present. That said, I really enjoyed your video and looked at some other ones and I've learned quite a bit (thank you) and I hope that this show does not reflect poorly on you or your community.

Show the papers? .. and maybe your peers verifying it. Thats the only way to prove it. And if you say "i dont dont have to prove anything" thats more the reason. I have a strong feeling your faking. I would love for you to prove me wrong.

I don’t think Baylen Dupree is faking her tics and I don’t think there’s ever a definite way to tell if someone is definitely faking their tics or not
@liamdacre18182 күн бұрын
I don’t think there’s ever a definite surefire way to identify whether someone is faking or not. Being fake claimed is dangerous and it reveals the ignorance that society has with understanding the condition

I'm 75 and I had a schoolmate in 1st grade who had a tic when we'd stand online. I just thought that's what she did and it was "neat". There are lots of people with degrees of turrets, some caused by medications. It is not off putting, nor should it be.

Given that TLC used to be The Learning Channel and showed actual documentaries before descending into cesspool of "Reality" tv, I'm pretty confident that middle and high schools will have an explosion of kids self-diagnosing with Tourettes. Also, for those who don't know, "Reality" tv is created in the editing room. I had a friend on The Biggest Loser who was shocked by all the drama and rivalry in the final product. "We all really liked each other and supported each other. That's not what happened at ALL." Stop for a moment and ask yourself why you're watching 90 Day Fiancee rather than a legit documentary about relationships and/or psychology. And be honest with your answer.

It's difficult to live with and I'm afraid they won't represent the difficulties and won't represent the suppression that sooo many people don't understand. I suppress around people automatically and they are much worse at home, the severity can absolutely be hidden but the general public thinks every case is 100% irrepressible. Neurologic tics typically have some level of suppressibility that can be enhanced by things like social pressure, focus, etc. Varies by person though.

TLC is just drama channel and the more drama the more “weird” the more lies they can put out the better the ratings the more money they make. TLC is not a good channel

I don’t know anyone what was at my high school named Joshua but he looked very familiar to me. He looked like a guy who was two grades below me who was also making fun of all the special needs kids. At that time in my life I was suppressing my ticcs so no one make fun of me more. He used to mock the way I talked. If that is the same guy he’s definitely not 19. I am not claiming that is the guy, he just very familiar to me and reminds me of a jerk guy from high school. Thank you so much for everything you do.

Your tics don't seem disruptive (they likely seem much more to you than to others) and shouldn't cause issue with folks of good grace.. whomever gave stank eyes is not a good representative of Catholics. Both my son and I have Tourettes with Copralalia and recently went back to the Catholic Church. I sit in the back so my tics won't get out of hand as they worsen when I feel eyes on me (more a self conscious thing than what others actually think) and if either of us were to get too noisy or inappropriate, we'd just go to the cry room... not because there's anything wrong with us or people wouldn't be understanding but so that Mass can continue for everyone else without interruption as it's about God, not me. That last bit is where people get self righteous about acceptance and accessibility but from my perspective it's about keeping the attention on God and not me. My son and I yelling racist slurs at each other is not a battleground for acceptance lol
