This method is how I've always done it

You don't wrap when you chain. Never tried that. Is the way you insert the hook in the chain considered to be better? It seems harder. Also, you wrap the yarn for the first parts of double crochet but then don't wrap when pulling through the stitches which I have never tried. I would have to relearn or try to see how I like those methods. Later you did wrap backwards (or the reverse from the way I wrap) when you pulled through the stitch, not the loops.

You really do that differently, both how you insert the hook in the chain and in how you wrap (or actually don't wrap) the yarn.

Hi! I am going to try the plaid stag blanket. Is this the same stich i will be using? When you say block do you mean one of the little square in the graph pattern ( like the first color block has 6×6 squares)

I found an old rug hooking from Mary Maxum in my mother‘s stuff after she passed. I have a stencilled rug canvas 1611 and it doesn’t show the lines for the twisted strands like your video does. So how do I I know which are the twisted strands?
