@SevenLlamas I think you may not have driven far enough or turned the wrong way at the intersection. Bucoda is a small town across the railroad track, but it has more than 3 buildings, and there is a sign next to the track. The most noticeable building is a two story community center. Thanks for watching.

You missed the part of the mineral mining industry. The railroad wasn't built just for coal. It runs up; past Lake Cle Elum. The rail line was supposed to run to Fish lake and the mines around it. It failed with the market crash in 1889. There are many gold, copper and silver mines around the Fish lake basin.

I live here..please tourist 1)do not leave your food scraps for wildlife, our local dogs find them first and chicken, pork bones are dangerous.2)don't leave your dog poo bags along trail,we don't have a poo bag picker upper to go 5 miles to grab them.if u don't pack them out then toss poo,no bag,off trail..it will dissolve by winter.3)quit driving down coal mine trail to find shady place to park,no motor vehicles period..4)when u stumble drunk out of bars late and are walking to your vacation rental, loud drunken laughter, conversation, yelling as u walk thru residential streets remember people are sleeping, show respect and last, roslyn is NOT Vegas, your arrogant and entitled attitude at locals is ridiculous.treat roslyn with respect,it deserves it

Thank you for these guidelines. Disrespect for nature and rights of others has always been a pet peave of mine wherever you go. I lived for while near a fast food place and was amazed at the amount of food containers that ended up in my front yard every day. In my case, I had to clean up after these thoughtless people and fought vermin that were attracted to the food scraps. Thankfully, I no longer live there, but I still feel for the folks who do. Roslyn is such a great place to visit and in such a beautiful area it's sad that you need to deal with these problems.

Thank you so much for commenting on this video. I am sad to hear of your health set back. I lost my loving husband several months ago and have been recovering from some subsequent surgery of mine since then. We used to do a lot of traveling around our state while he was still healthy enough to do it and this trip was one I asked him to make because I too loved that show. Actually it has been a lifelong ambition of mine to visit the UK. My family ancestry on both sides originated in that part of the world like so many other Americans. I have a subscription to both the British streaming options available to me here and this is my way of keeping in touch with my English, Scottish and Irish roots and I recently watched the coronation. So it may be that we have some things in common. I hope you are recoving well and I send my blessings to you and your family.

I was a big fan of Northern Exposure because it was so different from standard 90's tv shows, and could surprise me. We drove our converted shuttle bus "Serenity" to Seattle (from Kentucky) to visit my daughter there. Spent a week on the Olympic peninsula, then on our way back east stopped in Roslyn. The Brick wasn't open yet, but folks working in the kitchen with the back door open said, "Come on in if you want to take pictures". Small town hospitality, I love it! I had a big grin stuck on my face walking around taking pictures and remembering the laughter they had given me. Camped 3 more nights at a National Forrest campground 10 miles north of town. Fantastic trip.

I love this video! Thanks for sharing, it really is a beautiful town. When I was younger my family and I used to take that ferry all the time to vacation on Anderson island. That road that you take that leads to the ferry is very pretty, and they have a really nice park down the road from the ferry terminal. I know this was posted a while ago, but perhaps you could answer a question for me. To the left of the ferry terminal there is a really old boarded up building that used to be a train station, it's been there for a very long time. There is very little info about it online but I did find a couple articles. Apparently during the early 20th century there was a violent train robbery there and several people were killed. Could you tell me if this is true? When I was around 8 or 9 I went in there and I don't remember quite what happened, just that I felt really creeped out, It may have just been my imagination I'm not sure, but reading those articles makes me wonder if something more happened on the day I visited it.

That's an interesting story, Jake. I've no idea if it is true, but I will research it. My husband is 80 years old and has lived around here his whole life and it also was not a story he had heard before. I came here forty years ago with my former husband and our children and that is when I became fascinated with all the history I discovered in the Pacific Northwest. I've reached the age where these videos became more and more difficult for me to make so I've not made any new ones for some time. I enjoy reading the comments I get and I'm happy there are still people who enjoy the videos. Thank you so much.

Cancer treatment that is commonly used in other countries of the world. Are available online, or at a health food store, or in the woods right beside you. Research: turkey tail mushrooms, Chaga mushroom, cordyceps mushrooms, reishi mushrooms, saccharomyces cerevisiae, etc. I believe it's the (beta glucans 1, 3 - 1,6) strains that do it. In particular types of mushrooms, algae, yeast, fungi. And a small few types of tree bark. (It's real).
