Hey Grace! I just discovered your channel and your videos are really inspiring. I've been planning a thru-hike of the AT for a few months now and yes... I have Crohn's disease. I'm looking forward to binging all your videos and hopefully I'll learn a few things about managing symptoms on the trail. I also find our gear choices hilariously similar...I'm using the new BA Tiger Wall 2p with a Hyperlite pack and want to switch to the Durston X-Mid Pro 1p for the Thru-Hike.

Oh Im so excited to hear about your upcoming thruhike! You can do it! Just think, you've got all of nature as your potty 😂 seriously, it's tough but you can do it. I'm still plugging away at it!

@@thatsamazinggrace9512 Well, I'm really happy I came across your videos. Something I've been really worried about is getting infusions every 6 weeks. Do you typically have someone pick you up and drive you back home or are you able to stop at infusion places along the way?
@thatsamazinggrace951229 күн бұрын
@@dmar0652I have to have someone pick me up (usually my husband) Unfortunately, due to insurance issues, I wasn't able to get infusions along the way. It's very inconvenient and it's hard on my husband when he has to work. I hate asking him although he's perfectly willing. I'm concerned about next season and starting at Harper's ferry, it will definitely get harder farther north 😬

I just discovered your channel again with the video prior to this one. Subscribed last year, but for some reason didn't get notifications and didn't realize you had hit the trail again this year. I'll go back and watch your 2024 hikes, and look forward to whatever you do in the future. It seems your chronic health challenges have improved. In this video you look so healthy, even though you've recently been sick. I hope you'll be able to meet the goals you've set for yourself, even if you have to do them solo. I admire your tenacity. May God bless and protect you as you continue your journey.

Thank you for sharing your Triple Crown Experience with us. My brother and I had planned to leave on the 15th October last year, to do the Triple crown Loop. I was hit suddenly with Guillain Barre and hospitalized on the 8th.After five months in rehab, I am walking again. You’ve helped me realize that I won’t give up… going to do that loop. Thank you! ✌️🙂💚

That was actually once the Bedford, Virginia Air Force Station on Apple Orchard Mountain that you hiked by, which has been closed down now for quite a few years, since 1975. It had a two lane bowling alley and other amenities to keep the men entertained. It was very cool! It now is maintained by the Federal Aviation Administration.

Thank you for all that you do. You are as always inspiring. I had been training with my brother to do the VA triple crown. I have AS so training was an absolute necessity. Shortly after you had to leave the trail, I caught the flu. I was feeling better, then the very rare Guillain Barre took me down unable to move anything below my diaphragm. I’ve only shared this to reflect how much your videos mean to me. Thank you again and I look forward to seeing you hike the AT again!✌️🙂❤️
