James, I like the suggestion of using light/neutral/warm cements to mimic nature. However , some patients are looking for the "piano keys" teeth, do you just use the same shade (light) on all the teeth, or do you use a different ceramic (MT or LT) to give them what they "wish"?

I'm opening my new office and currently have been using Primescan, Primemill, and an MCXL. I plan to purchase another MCXL as they are workhorses and a lower investment. However, I was planning on getting inLab to keep everything in the Cerec workflow...now with DS Core being amazing and allowing for a much easier time with an open system I have considered Exocad over inLab. Would you have a recommendation on inLab vs Exocad if I am running Primescan, DS mills, and an Axeos CBCT? Is it easier to stay in the DS workflow with inLab or just as easy to go with Exocad? What is the company that helps you for out of network

I have used ZirCAD infiltration liquids for a few years. I have noticed in the last year, since using my CS6 instead of previous CS4, that I am getting white almost like a "snow" stain. I am wondering if the infiltrates are going bad or if its an issue with the vacuum or other setting on the CS6. Have you seen this?

How do you get scans from the Primescan into the PM7. Can Cerec software mill to PM7 directly or do you need to use exocad for design and milling on PM7?

can you explain how do you do same day dentistry in detail? Do you prep the tooth and ask your patient to stay in waiting room and deliver the crown when its done? Or do you prep, take impression and ask him to come back at the end of the day? Because sometime i feel to much pressure when i try emax et it takes 15min primemill and 40min speedfire + design and so to do while he is waiting... Maybe can you do a video where u explain how you take patients for easy case and hard cases and explain how to optimize the time and how to work without stress and properly.

How long did it take you to get comfortable with exocad?? I feel like the initial hurdle is so large. What camera are you using to record your videos?

So you mention you mill on the MCXL because of the smaller bur. However doesn’t your PM7 have an even smaller bur? So why mill on the Cerec system at all if you have a mill that always mills in extra fine mode + even more because of the 5-axis and the smaller tool? I tried to search and saw Cerec has a .6 so can’t it use that bur?

I agree with you 100% on the 'self reliance' issue. Almost every successful businessman or coach out there preaches delegation. I learned the hard way that good dentistry is all about self-reliance. Good dentistry results from the bond you develop with your patient/client. When patients know that the level of care you provide and the quality of your work stems from self reliance; that you have invested time/skill/capital and passion in what you offer then they would come around to appreciate it. Self reliance is often confused with micromanagement. This misconception is utilised and feasted upon by the powers that be to drive young clinicians world wide to adopt a copy & paste way of doing things under the slogans of; faster, more profitable, lighter, brighter and smarter...etc Your presentation challenges the mainstream 'McDonald's formula' where the doctor/patient relationship has been sadly reduced to a service provider and a 'number' waiting to receive their next order. Again, you have made a (conscious decision) to do dentistry the way you see best for you, your family and your patients. You are a great source of inspiration to me and to many others out there. In your opinion, if you were starting out and thinking about opening a practice would you still go with the primescan? Its great, but its a couple years old now and as you said, its a closed system. Have you looked at the new offerings from iTero? Additionally, I do like the versatility of the MCXL and would love to go with the primemill, but again it is a closed system. This is from someone who isn't currently locked into the CEREC walled garden and have that 5 axis milling capability. Your response would be greatly appreciated.

For same day, 1 to 3 units, nothing beats cerec. Once you get bigger cerec does have limitations. However it’s a great tool for bread and butter work

Hi Dr. I had tooth 9,10 knocked out 10 years ago and the teeth are coming out soon due to bone loss. My Dentist recommended (I advised I wanted veneers on teeth 6-11) a veneer bridge while I’m healing from the grafting over a flipper since I wanted veneers anyways. I have 8 zerconia crowns on my top teeth #5-12. My gums burn on those 8 teeth and my lips are dry constantly and the mucousa on the inside my lips feel like they drag on the crowns causing significant speech issues. I have been miserable ever since they were placed in my mouth. They have been reduced in size a couple times. It’s affecting all aspects of my life-suggestions? Please

Great video! I use Kuraray Cerabien FC Paste and have been pretty happy with it. From what I understand it should be pretty similar to Miyo. Have you tried the Kuraray product and would you say Miyo is significantly superior? Would be great to know if its worth it making the switch.
