Really like that LPS Tapmatic2, works great for aluminum. Alum melts at low temp and likes to friction weld onto tooling. Worked great, even with that cheap dull hardware store tap

Junkyard prices have doubled or even tripled in my area since the pandemic, so building this car yourself probably would have cost a lot more than what you paid. Junkyards here don’t let LS engines go out to the yard anymore, they get pulled immediately and put on a pallet with a stupid high price tag.

I don't know who you are. I don't know what you want. If you are looking for ransom, I can tell you I don't have money, I spent it all on this car. But what I do have are a very particular set of skills(and tools), skills(and tools) I have acquired over a very long diy career. Skills(and tools) that make me a diy nightmare for people like you. If you let my engine problems end now, that'll be the end of it. I will not look for you, I will not pursue you. i'm glad i realized my mistake before fully torquing down my headbolts that these washers had a chamfered side it's very easy to brush past it. torqued the first few in pattern one set to 100ft-lbs and glad i didn't fully do it because i had to take them out to make sure they're all set because it says if the chamfered side isn't on the bolt it'll cause premature bolt failure. also second thing i saw is that ARP has they're own specific torquing specs which i've heard horror stories about people who either didn't put washers on or torqued the bolts down to manufacture specific rather than ARP specific. they state to do 3 rounds of torquing the bolts to 100ft-lbs so i've been using a torque stick rated to 100ft-lbs to add that last layer of your "cover your ass" method

snake oil for your car. there is a reason an oil filter has a FILTER inside it

you could use magnets w/o the metal ring, and silicone the magnet to the filter canister. I think some manufacturers put magnets in the oil pan.

@BOOT

I imagine the fiberglass dust would increase significantly with a grinder. Also would not advise a chainsaw because of all the metal fasteners molded in the fiberglass.

I think any magnet would help collecting any metal with the filtration media. Unless it's not metallic. I seen magnet oil pan drain bolts too.

it says , valve spacing moved .050 from stock. do you need to use special rockers?
@BOOT
@BOOT 2 ай бұрын
Some stock heads don't line up straight. Adjustable guideplates work fine, for not huge offsets but if it's too much. They make offset rockers or even lifters. RPM and app should be considered as well. If Dart intended these heads to only be used with offset rockers, then they'd prob sell some "Special Offset Rockers" for them

Well, you can see where he magnet was and the stuff it collected. No denying it. Personally, I probably wouldn't run one. To me, if there's enough stuff collected by the magnet, you'd be able to see it in the filter media. Guess it'd save you the trouble of digging through an oily parts. Thanks for posting the vid. It was informative.
