cyfuko i applaud you for not knowing what gacha life/gachaverse/gacha world/gacha club is and how it's different from actual gacha games so ill explain it below. So gacha can mean two things on the internet. Gacha games (from the Japanese word Gachapon meaning arcade machine) are games where you can spend in-game currency to roll for specific items. It's totally random and based on luck, and THAT is what encourages gambling lol. An example of a Gacha game would be Genshin Impact because you can roll/wish for the characters. NOW gacha can also mean gacha world/gachaverse/gacha life/gacha club which are all games by the company lunime that happen to be named "gacha" where you can create characters, dress them up, and put them in specific poses/situations/etc. its almost like picrew with the customization. the art style of "gacha" that you mentioned in the vid is just people drawing over their characters in the aforementioned games. the reason this art style is so infamous is less because of the art itself and more because of the types of content people would create with THESE gacha games. search up gvmv (gachaverse music video) or glmm/gcmm (gacha life/club mini movie) and you'll find so many stories people have made. these stories were often inappropriate or just cringey (there are subreddits dedicated to talking about the cringe like r/gachalifecringe for example) and for that reason people have an overall bad image of the "gacha artstyle" and anything to do with the lunime gacha games. that's it

It's a dress-up game where you can customise your characters and adjust their poses, even putting them into scenes. The "gacha art style" Is when people take a picture of their character and render the image to make it look good. "Gacha games" Are usually anime-style games where you can get characters. The gambling addiction warnings come from the gacha system, which is a lot like gambling. The gacha system lets you put in a certain amount of the in game currency for a chance to earn a featured character or object.

I don't think when they talk about anime artstyle they are talking about 2000s, they are mostly talking about 90s.

be prepared for a yap "furry artstyle" is crazy cause which one????????????????????????????????? all i can think of are the super cartoony kind of offputting ones. i don't rlly like that style (AS A FURRY). they feel soulless. but ur catsuka ate ngl?? i agree with people who don't like caricatures, some of them can just be kinda rude ngl and they always look so weird bro.... the corporate artstyle is also annoying, idc about the anatomy, there are a lot of stylised drawings that can do weird funky anatomy like that. however, i think companies hiring actual artists would be a nice change of pace. no offense to people who draw using that style (you don't) but i'm also not a fan. i do agree with you though when they make it an actual drawing it's good (again with the hiring actual artists). but when theyre just like doing some silly ahh pose meant to illustrate what the article is about??? ew the gacha artstyle is specifically from the games gacha club, gacha life and gacha life 2 (there was also a gacha studio, but that had a [better] different artstyle that looked a bit like old shoujo manga), and a lot of creators who make videos, usually stories, using gacha do that really heavy shading on their faces. not to be confused with a gacha game as in the genre. ok so the big eye style may.. may be a little off. but i think it's cute personally idk. 🤷‍♂ i can't defend the old bl manga style bro not today. realism being more hated than the previous one is kiiinda crazy yall. me personally realism's cool but i do prefer more stylized art. dunno i like "chicken scratch" and will defend it for a long long time. however i think it is always good to have more line confidence, so learning the basics first is kind of important. but i think it's pretty cool i agree on the winx thing with hazbin, it's pretty generic animation style and is probably designed for ease of animation (because gee whiz the characters sure aren't), vivzie's old style was definitely better in my opinion. however it's not too bad, reminds me of how i used to draw in 6th grade. if pulled off right the jelly artstyle can be cute but SOMEBODY (cough cough) didn't do that, and the reason it's probably so widely hated is because its "creator" literally tried to act like she was the only person allowed to draw like that. Also story time our grade is the one that got our school banned from the nearby zoo for 2 years (until we were out of the school) because one kids was throwing rocks and the other got bit by a flamingo. they did ruin the whole thing, they made us have to be escorted around the zoo by teachers the whole rest of the trip.

About the gacha art style. There's a misunderstanding. When people say gacha they mean the games "gacha life" "gacha club" etc. simple dress up and story making games, nothing's wrong with the games but as they got popular, some weird kids have been posting weird videos that made people hate this game. As for the gacha games you've found, those are totally different games that come in different styles and genres where you pull for random characters denpends on your luck, and this game came from toy vending machines in japan that give you random toys. The gacha artstyle comes from the first games I've explained, which honestly has nothing to do with the term "gacha games" because the gameplay is totally different from actual gacha games.
