Greetings from New Hampshire! It was funny as hell listening to you railing on N.H. It’s too bad that there really doesn’t seem to be any serious card collectors here, because New Hampshire has a lot of great cards. Lake Winnipesaukee, the mountains, ski resorts, the coast, small towns, etc. I actually don’t understand it. Anyway, let me know before you burn all of your N.H. postcards. I’ll take them off of your hands. Haha!

I've never heard of bluesky, looks sorta like Tumblr. Do you pin your ebay listings to Pinterest?

I hve been going through some old papers of my parent s and came across some postcards by Arbuckle's Ariosa Coffee Company out of New York. They are of different states with different venues: a sugar plantation in Louisana, a winter resort in Florida, etc. How do I find the monetary value of these?
@mailseum7 сағат бұрын
Do they say “postcard” on the back? They may be Victorian era trade cards, so a little earlier than postcards (and a little smaller in size I believe). I think the Arbuckle trade cards go for about $10 each, but I’d have to see yours to know for sure!

Quick tip: if you're struggling to find info or have foreign cards with words you can't understand, you can use Google lense, I found not only will it translate on the photo itself, but has other tools to help search out related images. So if you get a card with no writings at all, you can image search it and find other documentation on it and usually can figure out the location or what the image is. Just thought I'd throw that out there, I'm currently working on rppc from other countrys and some I couldn't figure out the locations, a quick pic on Google and I had all kinds of results that helped me title my listings.

After Ebay fees, what do you make on a $1.27 ? anything? Thanks. Good video...
@redpiano16 күн бұрын
The $1227.68 that you see there is not a true net sales figure. What you have there is gross sales (minus) selling (aka eBay + postage) expenses. That means that the difference between those numbers ($530.07) is ~30% of your Gross sales as eBay related sales expense. In order to calculate a true net amount, you'd also have to subtract your Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) aka what you paid for the merchandise you're selling, and your overhead expenses such as rent/utilities, etc. your shipping supplies, office supplies and equipment, etc. With a 30% marketing cost (not atypical for an eBay seller - yours aren't unusually high from what I've seen), the business is going to live or die based on how LOW you can purchase goods, how HIGH you can sell them, and hope that you don't have a lot of shrinkage (damages, unsellable customer returns, etc.) ..... Come to think of it: I've never asked anyone at eBay before, but I wonder if return costs are included in the "Net" figure they are showing, or if they are expecting the seller to keep track of that and deduct those dollars from the Profit and Loss statement by hand. I have very few returns in any given year, so the calculation is insignificant here.

I sell flatware like you sell postcards. I typically have all my inventory on sale for 10% off and have an active 10% off coupon. Just for fun I changed the sale to 20% off and cancelled the coupon. Sales doubled. Literally double. The key to success on Ebay is to make changes monthly. Change it up!

I dont sell postcards but ive been interested in history my entire life and ive done a fair amount of research. Every now and then i see a postcard that reminds me of an old newspaper or diary i discovered in my studies. I was lucky but also worked hard to attend one of the top universities in the world that has an extensive collection of original source materials. Arguably all colleges at that level are interesting but some of these libraries are unique just like postcards. My mom was an italian immigrant and a lot of people dont know about how much they were hated in this country way into the 20th century. My fathers family emigrated during the irish potato famine. Same story but they were able to become accepted into society a little easier. Not always but the language helped. I saw a comment about politics and i dont mean to criticize the person because they sound upset. But postcards are representative of our past and it is a shared history like it or not. But a lot of people here dont want to be in a classroom and i get it. But i love it.

your a retard, the economy is strong, our stock market is strong, the problem with Ebay sales is not that the economy is poor. The main problem with ebay sales /amazon/Mercari/Poshmart is there are too many resellers at this point in time. Everyone wants to be a resller and not work actual jobs that supply an income. Get a clue dude.

So I have an album my great grandmother Theresa Irene Ellis Decker created of one of her road trips from Sept-Oct 1947. She travelled from Pennsylvania through all the states by bus to San Francisco, then down to San Diego and Tijuana, Mexico. Finally heading back to Pennsylvania via Route 66. She documented her journey and collected postcards as well as taking pictures. Almost all of the postcards are in excellent condition. I am wanting to see if the collection as a whole would make more than selling it piece by piece, but I'm unsure where to start. I'd appreciate any advice you might have.

I've always believed in best offer in addition to my 2% across the board promoted. A good portion of my sales each week are from best offer. In addition, I send out 20% off coupons to repeat buyers...
@last-known-photo857420 күн бұрын
Do you also send automatic offers? Also, for your best offer do you set automatic acceptance or an automatic denial level for these items?
@mailseum20 күн бұрын
No to both of those, I’ve had problems with automatic offers before and I like to decide on a case by case basis (and block buyers that send extremely low offers multiple times, which you can’t do if you auto decline).
@theresakralik182020 күн бұрын
I have Best Offer active on 1700 listings. I don't want to lose a sale over a few dollars. If someone is in buying mode I want them to consider my item. I'm not usually the cheapest option at any given moment since there are new "like items" listed on a regular basis where the seller comes in cheaper than me. I simply want the opportunity to sell my item. I promote my items 3% to increase impressions and views. Best Offer often closes the sale.
@belpostcards938820 күн бұрын
Great video topic. I too have tried both ways with and without offers. I had come to the realization that not only are most postcard collectors the nicest, most honest buyers, but some also just want to make a bargain deal. Even if only 50 cents off your price or the cost of a stamp. The only time I get irritated is when a card has a history of $15 comps and you have the only one for sale and someone immediately offers $2 for it. I am probably way too forgiving in the negotiations, but in those cases I move on from the potential buyer.
@designyourcards21 күн бұрын
Wow, what a difference! I use best offer.
@wildfurlifetv726121 күн бұрын
I think the stamp value should be considered too. The buyers probably know that and are just trying to get a good deal on those. Old Stamps are cool.

Thanks for another informative video! I’m in Maryland and really enjoy seeing all the MD cards that you have sold. That buyer that you highlighted that bought the Pocomoke High School card is a regular (good) customer of mine. My “formula” when listing postcards is for the first 3-4 weeks a card is listed it does not have best offer turned on. After 3-4 weeks, I turn on best offer with auto accept at 20%. I don’t use auto-decline at all. If someone makes an offer below the auto accept price, I look to see how long it’s been listed and negotiate accordingly. I do get a lot of sales at full price, so this system works well for my business. Thanks for working at the polls - EVERYONE GET OUT AND VOTE!!!
