i don't understand why they changed the format. Gwent was so much fun. By far the game with the most competitive decks. Every faction had at least one meta deck at one point. They ruined one of the best card games ever.

I still remember getting the beta email, and how excited and joyous I was playing Gwent every evening with strangers and friends alike. I spent quite a bit of money and didn't feel bad at all, it was well deserved. ...then thronebreaker came, arguably the worst decision in gaming history, and I quite and never looked back. Yet still, as I play through the Witcher 3 again, I think fondly of the original Gwent and wish THAT was still around today, the game would undoubtedly be thriving still.

Thronebreaker was a critical (if not financial) success & the game is in a far better state now than it would ever have been in its beta format.
