Thank you, Gwent. I’ve been here since the open beta in 2017. As a Witcher fan and a gwent fan, this is heartbreaking. This was the most artistically beautiful card game I’ve ever played.

This is sad... The game is beautiful, this Witcher universe is unique, I was so excited for every patch, event, cards drop... Game balance hitted me a little, should have done better and promote the game smarter, but I was cheering for you every time... Like I'm in love with Gwent, hoped it could last forever :(

There is so many cards, so many possibilities I couldn't even try because of lack of free time. I'll stay positive the game will shape up nicely until 2024 and we can still play it with joy in this "Gwentfinity" era :) Thanks for everything!

If it doesn't last and they decide to shut it down then they would have to refund every purchase the players made and that is a lot of money so I don't think they will.They will continue with the sht patches and put a fake smile while doing so unfortunately.

I was in Poland working with their military when I first found out about the game. Fell in love with it ever since. Spent more hours on this game than any other. Could not believe there was a witcher mobile card game with such amazing quality and detail.

I haven't played Gwent in over one year, but I always planned a return once I found the time to recover my pace with the latest expansions. Gwent was actually what took me to the Witcher games, brought me back from a long hiatus in my computer gaming, and actually revived in me a passion for this hobby. But Gwent was even more, if all that wasn't already enough. This game appeared in my life during a long and deep depression that had thrown me in a backward spiral where I lost a lot of things I had worked to achieve. It became more than trivial entertainment, it was the disctraction I needed to rest my mind from my daily sadness and doubts. It was the instant friend I needed in a situation that left me isolated and lonely like never before. It also helped me with my confidence, as I got pretty good at the game (for my standards, at least). Today I am in a much better place in life, and I can't help to think of Gwent as a huge support during my darker days, those years back. Because of that I was sad with the news. It's hard not to see it as a goodbye, as the prelude to a lot of changes in the community... to the Twitch streams, and Reddit discussions, and funny and exciting tournament moments, and expansion anticipation, and memes, and jokes... that will likely cease to exist. But I want to thank CDPR for everything this and the entire Witcher series games have meant to me. I will miss Gwent very dearly.

I'm optimistic that Gwent will even reach its peak in 2024 as balance and quality rework of cards will be done. I hope the Gwent team do not feel discouraged and can still deliver a positive outcome and preserve its future legacy. Huge thanks for everyone involved in creating and maintaining GWENT. Although I started playing last month, it's been 16 years dedicated to playing and competing in a variety of card games and GWENT made me feel like a teenager all again, discovering an awesome universe with a wholesome community and, well, one of the most unique, beautiful and economically fair card games ever. I've heard the dev teams there aren't big, but they're very passionate about this game, so, I'd like to thank you guys, every single person who participated in this, for triggering a spark that will keep the flame of a young soul still burning alive in discoveries and challenges. 6 years of an amazing game! I am so happy for all the time i got to spend with it! By far my favorite expansion was "way of the witcher"- Hours i spend looking over the cards picking up the lore and and details. It was also the first card game i really let myself get invested in. My hope is that the community pulls together and keeps it alive. Its Understandable that with all the new projects coming up to neatly wrap this one up to move on to other things rather than trying to make a game out live its love. This game was truly special, the dev team should be very proud.

A wonderful game that I think underachieved its potential. Let's be honest, your marketing was awful throughout Gwent's life span. You were comfortable and complacent with the power creep. You were more than happy with a small, cult following and lacked serious ambition otherwise you should have at least 2+ million players especially after the Netflix show dropped. This game could easily be going for as long as gamers want it. It's a beautiful game broken by a few developers who don't play their own game. Hopefully the community push it to continue under a new chief and the momentum keeps and improves this brilliant game for many years to come. 🤞.

I have been playing Gwent since closed Beta. I still remember how happy and excited I was when I heard that a stand alone game was in the works. Then the day I was accepted to play the closed beta. This game means so much to me. I have been a gamer since ATARI 2600 and I have my favorite games and then I have that list of games that very few get on. You know what list I am talking about, every true gamer has a list of games that meant so much to them that when the day came when you had to put it down or stop playing it... you felt a huge void left behind. A void you know no game will be able to fill quite like the one you just retired. Gwent is one of those games for me. I knew this day would eventually come, I just didn't expect it so soon, or I had hoped that maybe the game would grow so large it couldn't die. I am seriously bummed hearing about this. I truly hope the game lives on forever and hopefully makes a resurgence at some point in the future. Until then like Martin Lawrence said "I'm gonna ride this mofo till the wheels fall off!!!"

Because the money and time they invested in cyberpunk was far greater than what they ever done with gwent. They couldn't just let cyberpunk be a massive failure, so they're trying to pull out a no man's sky and I don't think you can blame them for that. But yeah, it's sad nontheless

Looking forward to the 2023 updates, and we'll see how the game carries on following the 2024 transition. As for feedback regarding community-run events, I'd love to host community tournaments using the seasonal rulesets, but that is not yet possible because we can only challenge people to matches using the standard ruleset. Ideally, we would be able to select which seasonal ruleset we would like to use for the match, not just the currently active seasonal event ruleset - that way, it would be easier to plan in advance for tournaments with a specific ruleset, and/or have a big tournament that changes the event ruleset for each round (ex: Quarterfinal: Order in All Things, Semi Final: Dual Casting, Final: Double Down). Being able to select whatever seasonal event ruleset we'd like when challenging other players could make these types of events possible, significantly broadening the scope of community-based events and helping to sustain interest in the game.

@@mattstyles There is far more depth to seasonal metas than many players give them credit for; it is the comparative lack of exposure to seasonal events through a dearth of either official Gwent events or content creators that focus on non-Standard modes that has reinforced that false perception. Enabling players to face each other using seasonal rulesets would help introduce more players to decks, strategies, and rulesets that are not seen in Standard. This will enhance the player experience and keep players engaged by _increasing_ deck variety, especially relative to Standard mode, which may stagnate following the final card drops that will come in under a year. As the CDPR is seeking to prepare the game for the 2024 transition, your concern about deck variety is well-founded, and that is why the Gwent team should provide additional support to Seasonal formats to help sustain the playerbase.

So Gwent is going to be TF2 now, except it's going to be maintained by more than one janitor. I like the idea of making it a complete game, given the circumstances, but leaving ballance matters to the community (whatever that means) sounds bizarre as heck. Personally for the moment, Gwent is too anhedonic for me to play because of its poor ballance, but it's so diverse that i hope everything goes as intended with that gwentfinity project. A well-ballanced card game with little to none useless cards sounds attractive in a world of rotations, power creep and pack fillers.

It's sad to see the end of new content in 2024. At the same time it could be an awesome opportunity for community to balance the game and have some fun there. Here is a suggestion of how it could work from 2024 onward: 1st of a month - RELEASE - Previous round of community changes release as voted during the SELECTION phase of previous meta where top design for each card is added. 8th of a month - DURATION - Voting on current meta duration starts - options: keep meta until end of current month or until end of next month. 14th of a month - Current meta duration vote ends (players can at any time until end of 14th change their minds). If players voted for a 1 month meta: 15th of a month - NOMINATION - Each player can nominate up to 5 cards they find overpowered for nerfing and up to 5 underpowered cards for buffing. 20th of a month - DESIGN - Top 15 cards nominated for buffing and nerfing (30 total) can now be modified by the community (provision cost, power, ability costs, maybe even add/remove existing abilities, etc). First 14-29 unique designs for each card move to SELECTION voting phase. 25th of a month - SELECTION - Each player can vote for their favourite buff/nerf for each card (allowed to pick 1 design for each card or vote to keep the card unchanged - if more than 50-70% vote to keep card unchanged it does not change). If players voted for a 2 month meta: 1st of month 2 - NOMINATION - Same as 1 month meta. 8th of month 2 - DESIGN - Same as 1 month meta. 20th of month 2 - SELECTION - Same as 1 month meta. Repeat... Lets try to make the future of Gwent something fun.

I was there in the closed Beta, played it sooo much during that time and ended up racking 800 hours in it. Eventually quit for multiple reasons, such as the game never supporting Ultrawidescreen displays. Nevertheless, I never stopped loving Gwent. They were always nice and generous. Will certainly be missed.

I know all good things come to an end but I love this game and this community and the devs. I wish them all the best but am sad to see it end. Gwent is like an old friend and I will never forget it. Cheer up guys. It is not the end of the world. Constantly forcing new content to the game can be as bad as prolonging tv series. The most epic tv series are those which ended, when they were ended. If the game is complete, then there is no need to add more stuff. There is multiple, very successful games, which do not add any more new content. Slay the spire, or ..... Chess. Chess didn't received any "balance" for like 300 years and it is a very good game lol. It will be troublesome for content creators, because they will simply lack new things to make content around them. But let's be honest. Why we play Gwent, not other CCGs. We play Gwent because it is competetive, because you don't have to pray for good top decks. Because game is skill based, and we just want to compete. And this things will not end. You can still play and compete. Look at chess. Chess has very many enjoyers despite not having new content. For me personally, it doesn't seem like a big deal. Tbh i am often annoyed by balance changes or card drops, because I have to learn new meta. And I just wanna play, use skill and knowledge i earned in current patch, without being forced to learn meta again. So. We should not be pessimistic. If the game is complete, then it is complete. Future, forced changes would ruin it. Just like prolonging tv series, can be deadly for it. I will for sure continue to enjoy the game. Thank you, CDPR for delivering this amazing game. I simply can't understand why there was a complete lack of marketing from your side. And you even had a Netflix Witcher show to help, with all the hype coming with it... It's just sad, really - because of the Gwent's potential. It could have so much more success, only with some better business decisions... Still, I bought many different Journeys and boards, and had lots of fun from the gameplay. The game has helped me to get through 2020 - so big thanks for that. I still hope it will not be simply shut down one day.

This is great game. I think CDPR don't want to develope game. It is real reason. Lack of marketing, lack of things to do for old players, lack of point to play ranked games. I think game would earn more money if: 1) They combine marketing with Netflix Witcher 2) Add more things to farm for powder for old players 3) Sell paid boosters to account to quicker lvl up account 4) Add another 10 levels or no maximum cap 5) Add more journeys 6) Add paid songs, voices 7) Do proper campains like Saovine in beta. Not stupid rouge mage, or Thronebreaker 8) Make cheaper tables, cosmetics. Current prices, are simply too expensive. There is a lot to do, but they simply don't want anymore. I think maitanance mode is like one year before. Since they wanted to earn again on older journeys. Too bad. I loved this game.

The one thing i would love to see change about this game is the amount of tutors and deck thinning. I like using and playing against decks that can perform with whatever cards are in hand. It seems that most decks i play against run things like oneiromancy and royal decree along with cards that have a function like roach and knickers. Too many decks are being built around two or three round winning cards with the rest of the deck serving only to ensure that those cards end up in hand and played potentially more than once. Taking "echo" away from oneiromancy would work wonders in ending this. If you only need 2 cards to ensure victory in 2 rounds then all you need is oneiromancy and potentially a tutor like lady of the lake to double your chances of getting oneironancy. The issue only gets worse when you factor in cards that allow for potential replayability of those two round-winners.

I dont understand sad feelings. They said that till half of 2024 they will focus on balance changes. They dont add new crads and till than no stories. So we dont know what will be in 2024. How are we, the community, supposed to manage the balance of the game? We cannot agree on these types of things! I get that it's a cool and unconventional 'solution', but how 'feasible' is it really for the players to make direct changes within the client? That sounds dangerous to me....Like, will the community suggest balance changes to the Gwent Maintenance team? Or will we, the players, make direct changes to the balance of the cards within our own game session(s)?

So sad... I think this game was the best CCG I've ever played. Nothing comes close for me, especially when it comes to things like card art, animations, and soundtrack.

I loved the witcher 3 so much and tried getting in to gwent as soon as they announced the stand alone game, signed up for the early access/beta but never got a key for the game until it went on official release. Thanks for everything and will try to support the game as much as I can.

My guess would be 4 cards of each crafting cost (c,r,e,l) per faction in April. 1 each: common, rare, epic, 3x legendary per faction in July, then all 12 cards (2x per faction) legendary in September just like sacred and profane drop was 100% legendary crafting cost. So crafting cost estimates coming in 6600, 16260, and 9600. 32k and change meteor powder get you full premium. Maybe the July drop will have neutrals with lower cost instead of faction legendary's. Looking forward to finding out.

I think problem with Gwent is, game is to complicated & learning curve is steep, games are long (10-15 mins +) for it have a mass appeal..

The roadmap has been practically the same for the last two years: a smaller christmas drop, 2 expansions anually, and monthly balance patches. The different and quite sad part, are the plans for 2024 and beyond. But it is understandable, it must be getting more and more difficult to come up with new mechanics without revamping the whole idea behind the game. I just hope for the day that Gwent gets a worthy spiritual successor.

Unviable. It's VERY difficult (and expensive) to maintain coders which will be dedicated to consoles (it requires a whole another team). Just stick to mobile.

im so sad to hear this.. to me gwent is THE BEST card game on the market above hearthstone or other big names, its such a unique experience but i can understand that from a marketing perspective its not worth for the company to keep going.. thanks for all the years and memories
