You are very brave! I admire your ability to do high temperature hot process soap. Lately I have been adding more liquid prior to cooking the soap to compensate for some loss during the cook. The soap is never as fluid as your soap in this video. After watching this video, I am going to add more liquid after the cook to increase fluidity and decrease the darkening of the soap. Thank you for sharing.

Yes, adding supfats/liquids after the cook is the way to go for hot process. It helps a lot.

You are renewing my interest in CPOP. I tried it about eight or nine years ago once or twice. Now I could appreciate its expedient and smooth texture. It is faster than cold process with a smooth even texture in comparison to hot process.

I always put my cold process soaps in the refrigerator for 24 hours. Due to the softness, I wait another 48 to 72 hours for the soap to be hard enough to unmold and cut. Nowadays, I prefer hot process.
@sudsnsatinАй бұрын
Hey Natasha. Yeah I prefer hot process too. But there are still some soaps that I make including this one, that are cold process. I do about 50/50 now.

It doesn't really make a difference because there is a higher percentage of the rice bran than there is milk. Thank you for watching.

why not mix a portion of your dry ingredients with the milk.

Could you use the soap cutter to mark the loaf to aid in hand cutting the loaf?
@sudsnsatin Жыл бұрын
Unfortunately, I don't think that would make a difference. Many times I've marked a loaf using a ruler, but then as I cut, the knife will go down slanted. So the cut will start off at the right spot, but it still might end up slanted either too wide or too narrow. It's just me; I can't seem to cut straight down. 🤪
@natashagold7877 Жыл бұрын
@@sudsnsatin Are you able to mark three sides of the loaf? In marking three sides and guiding your knife along the markings could you get closer to straight cuts. By the way, is there a KZbin video on making even straight cuts?

@sudsnsatin2 жыл бұрын
Just what you saw in the video. I had it in the sink but it was too cold so I took it out and put it on rhe counter. I have made other soaps where the lye and oils were not hot enough and I did put the pot back on a low flame for a minute. But I didnt do that in this video.
@natashagold78772 жыл бұрын
In the past, I put my cold process soap in the refrigerator after placing it in the mold. The gel phase does not occur. The soap does not overheat either. For the colors to look brilliant, most soap makers prefer to allow their soap to gel. By the way, I have not seen “House of the Dragon.” Considering your review, I won’t rush to watch it. Thank you for sharing.

I wonder whether putting the soap in the refrigerator, after placing it in the mold, would have stopped gelling. I enjoy watching your soap making videos. By the way, I watched a video of people viewing “Game of Thrones”. I have not watched it. My kids are fans.
