Just wanna note you DO have to make sure the steering wheel DOESN'T SPIN, you can ruin the clockspring if the wheel spins completely around. I always use the seatbelt wrap around the bottom of the wheel and latch it in, pull the seat tight. Now your all set

This was incredibly helpful! I had a no crank/no start on my 2013 F-350 6.7 and tracked it down to an issue with power between a fuse and relay (different issue than repaired in this video, but similar in that it was inside the fuse box). I was incredibly concerned about needing to open the fuse box, but it ended up being quite simple once I knew what I was doing. So, for future reference when someone stumbles upon this looking to open their fuse box: The metal bracket has 4 clips locking it to the fuse box (two on each long side, shown at kzbin.info/www/bejne/qYasfqOamqmSfJI) The bottom of the fuse box has 3 zip ties holding the wire harness to the fuse box (cut all three zip ties, kind of shown at kzbin.info/www/bejne/qYasfqOamqmSfJI) The bottom half of the box is held to the top with 6 plastic clips (sort of shown kzbin.info/www/bejne/qYasfqOamqmSfJI). There's two on each long side, and one on each short side! Be careful, these are fragile especially if you're working in the cold. Don't over extend them, they don't need to move much. Separate the tab with a screw driver (or even your fingers) and pull the fuse box apart slightly so they stay separated. This was the hardest part for me. It's mentioned in the video that you may only need to pull half the fuse tray (after removing all the fuses/relays of course), which I did successfully (I only removed the right/back side). Once all the fuses have been removed, it's quite easy to remove the tray, but you must be gentle and patient. For the right side, there's only four little clips holding it down and they're super fragile. If you look along the edge you will see them. Simply push them back one at a time and simultaneously pull up GENTLY on the tray so they don't snap back. Once all four have been pushed back the tray should slide out with no force required. It should also go back in with no force required! The resolution isn't great, but I've circled the approximate location of the four clips on the right hand side tray (I didn't remove the left side, but look closely and removing that side shouldn't be much different) pasteboard.co/ohPzfUVa66g1.png As mentioned in the video, it's possible you could pull the wires without removing the top of the fuse box, and I does seem like it's doable, however I fiddled around with that for a while and couldn't quite get it. For how easy it is to pop the top tray off, I wouldn't even try it. It's so much easier to remove the connectors once the tray is out. One final note, when putting the connector back in, I hadn't seated it quite all the way, and it caused a misalignment when putting the tray back in (it didn't want to slide down all the way). Don't force it if this happens, make sure you've seated all your connectors 100%. That tray should go back in with no force required.

I ended up soaking the joint with WD-40 instead of replacing. So far so good.. Well see how it goes.

That's what I've got going on. Thought it was the inner or outer tie rods but just got those replaced and still clicking/clunking when turning the steering wheel

Question- What's the reason to remove the battery negative cable? Is there a possibility of airbag deployment?

More of a fail safe. Even when changing oil some recommend to still disconnect.

I have watched a lot of KZbin videos pertaining to my truck. As a matter of fact it has been almost six years since i have been living off grid so besides rifling through all the crap people put out and trying to find the most logical video to watch then put to practice, I don’t have time for TV. I have to make time for KZbin out of necessity and I must say you are AWSOME! Great filming, you don’t speak just to hear yourself talk, and you are very informative and easy to understand! You are a very well spoken, to the point, instructor. This is my first video i have seen of yours and i already subscribed. I am doing the EXACT REPAIR on my 2011. This undoubtedly would have been out of my league without your video. You saved me from breaking something and a billion trips to town. Thank you sir. Very good
