2025 & the original Superman is still the very best version ever made. Only Superman Returns has come close to the original. Brandon Routh played it very well. R.i.p. Christopher Reeve, you were/are & always will be the very best Superman ever.

I've never understood why this scene was cut from the theatrical film... It makes the project more impactful.. We, understand now, why it was... The first Superman movie was a Huge success beyond their expectations.... Marlon Brando would not return unless they offered him more $$ and a share of the gross... Ms Kidder and Reeve did not approve of the new director, Hackman did not want to return to the project.... There were also creative differences among the writers and crew! That's why there were 2 different versions of the film

What an incredible scene, it's just downright criminal the Salkinds cut Donner out and didn't want to give Brando his money. This scene alone answers so many questions, not the least of which is how Superman got his powers back, why we never see Jor-El again, and why the Fortress of Solitude is practically useless now.

very humbling .... im sure every son whose father has passed on would love to have these moments again if it were possible .... just to show that dad was right all along ...

I thought green kryptonite weakens Superman. This always confused me as a child back then watching this. But inside the Fortess of Solitude it's always that green-crystal that seemed to empower him. 🤔 But I guess they fixed that on Brandon Routh's Superman Returns. I can't remember any more green crystals empowering him there. 🧩
