What an incredible scene, it's just downright criminal the Salkinds cut Donner out and didn't want to give Brando his money. I never understood it .. but is seems to be intrinsic to the mythos. I've never understood how Superman's powers could be taken from him, or transferred to another .. etc because He's genetically a Kryptonian, at the molecular level, so nothing should be able to remove his powers, any more than someone can change their height or their IQ... but I don't know a version of Superman that hasn't used that story in some form. (Maybe, the recent Superman and Lois didn't do that story??) As far as reproduction is concerned... some stories have him fathering a child without changing into a human being, some don't. I like how Lois and Clark handled the question... an alien from another world can't father a child of a human female. Basic biology 101. Superman and Lois is kinder in that they had 2 sons, one fully powered Kryptonian, one more human.

The problem I have with this edit is how the original green crystal is shown. In the original film, this crystal survived the destruction of the crystal control console because Lois had it and left it away from the console. As Clark walks away from the destroyed console, the crystal illuminates to the right of the screen. In this edit, the crystal was found in the charred remains. In this edit, it survived by itself. In a way, it was Lois's actions that saved Superman after all Although I do admit that Clark being Superman meant he could not be with Lois when, in the comics, they actually married and had three kids.
@Soldier4USA20054 ай бұрын
I agree. Sadly, there will never be a perfect edit as Donner was replaced by a comedic hack....only to have Donner come back decades later to fix what he could. The kids part varies, as some comics (thus depending on the writer) have the canon that they're incompatible. And as far as I know, it's the most common canon. Them with kids is typically an else-worlds timeline.
