My dad has said for a long time they should just move the rubber a few feet closer to the plate and make every pitch over 98 on the gun a ball. Tune it so the pitch air time is roughly the same but takes a bit of stress out of the pitchers.

Appreciate the video. Well done. I'm subbed now and I'll check out some of your other videos. Just a quick 2 cents from the peanut gallery though. Hitter approach. In the same way pitchers are chasing velocity, hitters chase the home run. The age of Tony Gwynn and Wade Boggs contact hitting are over in the MLB. Everyone swings out of their shoes for the long ball. And they miss more, and therefore strikeout more. Pretty sure the analytics tell them to just swing for the fences too. Though I agree with your video, it's just something to consider. Also pitchers cheating with foreign substances, but that's another rabbit hole.

Anything 100 mph or over should be a ball unless the batter swings. I want pitching instead of heaving.

Great video, but certainly no tragedy. This was all about money and long term security. There is no way he thought the Angels would be World Series contenders.

An easy solution is to just switch out pitchers during quarter or half-time. Same as switching players in football

It might be time to move the pitching mound back like 5ft so hitters can get more hits.

Pitching does win the issue is that arms are fragile commodities.

I was kinda of assuming that over time, batters would be able to just refine their reaction time, and then pitchers would have to loop back around into making their pitches more about technique, bringing back things like knuckle and screw balls that modern batters would have to learn to handle. It's cyclical but that's what I would've liked to see because I like technique more than speed. Speed is impressive, but technique never gets old. Same logic for home runs vs small ball.

I love Bauer. I think he’s made some petty and dumb choices but I think he’s a unique individual who was hardened and somewhat jaded by a narrow minded society and sport in particular. His dedication to helping kids who are bullied is a testament to his history and character. MLB pitchers, even stars, young and veteran have looked to him for guidance with their craft, which shows the obsolescence and limitations of the state of pitching coaching philosophy across the league. Let’s be real here- the league blackballed him because he was a whistleblower against the pitchers cheating. The false accusations made against him gave the league the opportunity to follow through with their desire to expel him. He was right about the league’s integrity. He was right about Manfred, who is simply an awful commissioner. There are players who have been convicted of domestic abuse and sexual assault who received next to no punishment for their crimes by the commissioner. Totally hypocritical. If Manfred and the league want to show any integrity now, they ought to reinstate him, paid his back pay, and publicly apologize to him. The Mets should sign him right now. The city would totally embrace him and once he has NYers supporting him, he will be able to fearlessly enact more change for the better. Seriously, the people of NYC will totally love him.

Thanks for the very informative vidio. Never realised how much fast ball speed increased last 15-20 years. Hated the long 3.5 hour 8.5 inning games. Love the speed click & making pitchers having to pitch to at least 3 batters. Can remember Super Steve Carlton pitching two hour games for my bum Phillies.

Get rid of the home plate umpire calling balls & strikes. Why should a non participant have such an influence on the game. We have the technology. And that would eliminate phantom strikes by pitchers like Verlander, Ohtani, Kershaw etc. who get strike calls because of their reputation and not the quality of their pitch.

I will make the argument this was a good video but trout should never have won a mvp not once in MLB history was he the best player in the league at any given time, he was great but from A Rod, Jeter, Tatis Jr, Ohtani he was always 2nd or 3rd sometimes not even top 5. For proof he only went to the playoffs one time, a MVP wins championships they don't struggle to make the playoffs for an entire career and get first round swept in their only showing.

Trout's career is a bit of a disappointment because of his slew of injuries. He still has amazing #'s, but he could have accomplished more. There are a slew of guys now who produce more than he does. He's only 32, which means he will be toast long before he hits 40.

@DavidRobinson-wy7lx6 күн бұрын
When you consider all of the death threats Hank Aaron received in pursuit of the home run record, it’s an absolute travesty that someone cheated to break his record. Reggie Jackson said it best, “Bonds would have hit 100 home runs if more teams pitched to him. No player in baseball history has naturally been that good.”

Some people value loyalty more than rings. Not everyone is like that, and not everyone will understand it. Most of his critics who love giving him free career advice will never sign a 9 figure contract. Trout is different. A last of a dying breed.
