Dam the plane hits a pecan tree?? it could not have been more than 50 feet in the air ?? It must have been movin fast to leave a debree field like it did. His music is like Gorden lightfoots so well written and sung with awesome guitar melodies both by Gord and Red Shea...Just think of the music that could have been written if Jim and Maury survived!

Did the property owner not know that a plane crashed on his land? It seems strange that this airport manager had to spot the crash site from the. Air.

The group was chased out of town by the sheriff who said no encore. His daughter googled eyed a guy in the band. The pilot rushed by running out to airport. No preflight or planning.😢

I’m a big Jim Croce fan and I enjoyed this video, particularly how you have combined it so well with various source materials and a hobby I enjoy, flight simulation in beautiful VR, very often. I have simmed this same flight myself a few times. One item that trips up many Croce historians 19:26 is the fact that Jim did not actually write his hit song I Got A Name. The song was written by the famous songwriting duo of Norman Gimbel and Charles Fox who already had several hits to their credit. It’s an easy assumption to make, as the song so perfectly chronicles Jim’s own life and relationship with his father who had recently passed. Jim could so easily have written it, but he did not. Everything about that song is pop perfection and it remains one of my favorite songs to this day. Thanks for making this cool video that is a nice tribute to Jim, Maury and those that were lost along with him on that tragic day.

Thanks for the info and watching. I had leaned about that background of that song shortly after making the video, and it is kind of interesting how it fits Jim's writing style and story. 🎸

i can only wonder what the physiological profile of the charter service looked like? could it be that he was some kind of religion zeolite, and rock and roll in his mind was of the devil, and sending his inexperienced un rated pilot for instrument rating, he knew was not a qualified pilot for this flight ? weather indicted snow crappy visibility, what some say was a black field providing poor visibility? did all of the factors ad up to his wipe out? noting the wreckage , it looked like the angel of inclination was low between 8-15 degrees? the plan looks like it hit hard nose first or as the NTSB stated its right wing hit then the nose in-packed at 120 mph? the singers bodies ejected an the pilots infused into the cockpit remains. obviously the only adult in this equation was the charter service owner! this is the focus of the problem for it was his lack of due diligent that killed the young singers he was well aware of the acting pilots lack of experience flying in what can only be said were instrument conditions! second in command was Peterson who had the final decision as pilot to go or not? i was tough when i earned a single engine land in 1986 was when in dout sit it out! and a few time i had to stay at a hotel waiting for VFR weather conditions. i support pilot error as the cause of death. and the question must be asked did the young pilot have a death wish? i ask cuz he is dead. for the youtube record, i always heard that the banana V tail was known as a doctor killer! as it has retractable landing gear, variable pitch prop, high performance engine!

Interesting approach, employing Flight Sim. Most of these dead star videos seem to be all unrelated AI "artwork" with random airplanes and bad writing. And, yes, the Beech 18 was a handful, at least for the years I flew one.

He passed the FAA written examination but he was not instrument rated, there was only five mile visibility with no visible horizon, according to other pilots who flew that route that night.

As only a flight sim guy, at night over water seems pretty intense in low visibility. Would not want to have been piloting an actual aircraft in what the conditions appear to have been that night.

The smoke started in the main cabin, so it apparently gave the pilots more time to exit. I wonder if they had already been overcome by the smoke by the time they were on the ground?

I wish, that plane crash had not went through if they had stayed at the Hotol in Draybrug Teen. then they lefted the airport, the wild was pushing at 60 miles ph.and low visibilty, with rain. That just dont not make any type of sense. It seems like that Piolt, was in a hurry to get back to Nashville,I wish that Patsy Cline, rode back with one of her friends and huband. She would be alive today, and sining everywhere!!!❤❤❤❤❤❤
