Known as the voice of soul music, Otis Redding died in a plane crash in 1967 along with most of his backing band the Bar-Kays. This video tour discusses Otis' career, his final days and the crash took his life.

23:42 not quite correct. The Grim Reapers merged with another band and changed their name to Fuse. Two guys from both later went on to form Cheap Trick. But Cheap Trick isnt a renaming of the Grim Reapers.

The part of this documentary about James brown advising Otis not to fly in that type of weather and plane is something new and never been reported “in the Otis Redding story”. He had that plane for maybe a year plus he bought it new and special ordered. It was his choice and was advised to buy it because it was a civilian type plane built on a military design and it was the same type general MacArthur used during the war. Black people should tell their own story.

In that brief case was 15,000.00 for Otis performing his last show. That gig was a setup to get Otis in mob country
