@@killz1985 Yup, then it should definitely have that option for 4K. When the first GSPro window launches, is the correct display suggested? A suggestion when doing these comparison's is to provide all common ball data. Things like spin axis/side spin, HLA VLA, etc. Can't really tell much from just "total spin" differences. @OMG-29 күн бұрын
Carry comparisons are not a great way to compare launch monitors nor is shot shape because they are software based. A good comparison would be to check raw data that is measured like HLA, VLA, backspin, sidespin, & Ball Speed. Those data points are sent into the software to calculate ball flight data like carry and yards off line. Unless you are using the same software on the data both units capture (two copies of GSPro for instance) then everything else is almost meaningless.
@John-ei5uz9 күн бұрын
NIce socks! I often wonder why launch monitors don't offer a setting to adjust carry distance based on the same raw data. All that should really matter about device accuracy is ball speed, horizontal and vertical launch angle, backspin, and spin axis. Ball distance is calculated indoors no matter what device is used. If someone likes Trackman distance numbers and feels like that is more accurate then why not have a setting on the Garmin that allows you to increase or decrease ball carry as a percentage of what Garmin thinks the base number is. If the device is longer on some shots but then shorter on others then it simply is not measuring accurately and isn't worth buying anyway. I bet there is a setting locked in all devices that would actually let you change ball carry but they have it locked away from the average consumer. I have an optical device made here in Japan that is used for club fitting by a big golf chain and it was really giving longer distance and more forgiving shot shape than on the actual course. When I picked up one on an auction site and called the maker of the device they showed me how to go into the settings where you can smooth over the ball data or have raw as the device actually measured. Once I turned off all the extra settings the shot shaping became totally accurate to real life. I wonder how many fitters do this to try and sell golf clubs to bad golfers. A good golfer would know the numbers are wrong but not an average or below average golfer thinking getting fit for clubs will improve their game.
@Evan_Rodgers9 күн бұрын
Radar launch monitors cannot accurately measure gear effect, especially with driver. This test doesn’t tell us much about ball flight, you simply cannot trust radar LMs inside for proper flight dynamics.
