Could you explain or make a video on open phase faults and sequence components. I have a very hard time finding material on when a phase opens but isn't connected to ground or another phase. If this happens, I'm curious on the symmetrical components and what they look like.

Just now i noticed my ETAP 16 is malfunctioning. For protection coordination, whatever values i enter in the differential relay properties box, vanishes once i press OK button. This happens for CT ratings too. When i tried to disable overcurrent protection, the same happened. Unable to set breakers to open. Everything works first. When i reopen the properties box, nothing is there. Everything is in the default value. And so breakers are not opening. What goes wrong.?

Is 150% common for pick up current? I am used to seeing 125% on low voltage.
@Whitetooth1030
@Whitetooth1030 26 күн бұрын
125% is normal, 150% is more of this Engineers decision. Some Engineers add more percentage because they want to be 100% sure they don’t trip any operational load current.

Hello mate, do you know any reason why SEL uses different algorithms of SLP1-SLP2 for 487E and 787 for example. In former, SLP2 begins from 0;0 origin, while for latter SLP2 is shifted to the right. Cheers

why were current transformes used before CB. should not that used after circuit breaker
@romeroengineering
@romeroengineering 2 ай бұрын
Hi. CTs should always look into the protected equipment and encompass the interrupting device. For example, the CTs for the transformer differential relay in this example should be on the top side of the high-side circuit breaker and bottom side of the low-side circuit breaker, both looking into the transformer. The CT on the main breaker for the bus differential relay should be on the top side of that breaker, therefore overlapping with the CT for the transformer differential relay. Hope this helps. -Ricardo.

Good evening mr Romero Could you please share all application(software programm) that you use in rela y protection engineering
@romeroengineering
@romeroengineering 2 ай бұрын
Hi! For developing relay settings, you'll need to use the software from the specific manufacturer. For example, SEL AcSELerator Quickset for SEL relays. For short circuit and protection coordination, we typically use ETAP, ASPEN, CYME, or CAPE. -Ricardo.

Hello , We can change the time of OC definite time from 0.2 sec to 1.5 sec without study ? for PCC point between grid and the plant. Thanks

No, this is a big change in the time delay of the OC element, you should make sure it coordinates with other protection before changing the setting. -Ricardo.
