Modern Les Mis has certainly lost some of its authenticity. I've seen it twice this year in London - I'm not saying it's now a bad production, It's just footage like this always pulls at my heart strings more!

Capturing a show on your phone is despicable. You are denying the performers fair payment for their work is one reason. You may argue this makes the show available to people who (a) geographically couldn't get to see the show, and/or (b) the many people who can't afford tickets, tickets which are expensive. Why should they be denied seeing the show? I can't afford a good motor vehicle - by that argument, I should be allowed to go and borrow(steal) one at random, whenever I wish. And "artistically" speaking, uploads from a phone capture, give absolutely no taste of what it's like to experience a show. Many people, from only watching shows, even pro-shot legal uploads, on a phone, think they've enjoyed a show. They haven't. In most cases, watching movies on phones is a massive compromise when compared to watching in a good movie theater. But to watch a live performance on your mobile and then think you've seen the show is a huge self-deception, you get absolutely no idea of the thrill and excitement when experiencing the real thing. Save up, buy a ticket, and go to a live theatrical performance. (Unless it's a bad performance) you'll find watching one live production is better than watching 100 phone uploads. That's why I gave a thumbs down. [And the idiot who is spending time, concentrating on recording the show on their phone! You're missing out on really experiencing the show. Forget your phone. Enjoy the show. Tell people about it.]

The Gavroche in this show is absolutely fantastic, I love his spark.
He later was the bishop, and Ramin Karimloo was Valjean. The 2 did a duet.

I was fortunate enough to see her in “Passion”in 1994 and again in “Ragtime” in 1998. I had not known she was battling ovarian cancer and was greatly saddened when she died in 2018. She is definitely missed😢

I saw this show in 1998. It was still spectacular. I saw it years later in the US and sadly, it was so "adapted" that it never made it to Broadway. Nowadays, producers seem to like shows that cost very little to produce, leaving them with a bigger revenue. Sad!!!

What's up with all the comments saying that Eponine is evil or a villain, lol? 😂 She's just a girl who fell in love with a guy who doesn't see her that way. Born into poverty and with criminal dad, obviously she's not a saint, but a villain? That's hilarious.

In the book she has the ‘if I can’t have him no one can’ mentality and tries to have him killed on the barricade before she regrets it and dies herself. So she’s a bit of both

"Ragtime" is a brilliant show, and Ms. Mazzie was its brightest star. She was just as brilliant in every theatrical outing -- "Passion," "Kiss Me, Kate," "The King and I," etc. She was also beloved in the theatre community, as you can see if you watch the tribute to her by her friends in the community like Audra McDonald, Kelli O'Hara, Donna Murphy, Sutton Foster and more. When her ovarian cancer was diagnosed, she added a new dimension to her wonderful life, by courageously and frankly addressing her diagnosis and then allowing people to go along with her on the journey that was the rest of her too short life. She did so to bring attention to the disease, the need for an early diagnosis test, and to give courage to others who receive the same diagnosis. No one could have played any of her roles as well as she, but in that final role, she set a standard that will be difficult to match, but we all should try until that early diagnosis test becomes a reality and the treatments for the disease become regularly successful. Our hearts remain with Jason Danieley, who works courageously toward that dream, and we will never forget his beautiful and talented and brave wife!
