I think that you have too much cable on winch . This can be a serious problem with breaking cable,hangups and such.

What do people that have worked with a 4cx like the one in the video think of it. I have had one for about 6 months now, and I feel like it’s a piece of garbage. First cold day, about 15*f and it would not start. Less than 50 hours on machine, and it won’t start in mild cold. Not impressed. Not to mention all the inconvenient features. The mirror isn’t even in the right spot. If I can see out it properly while in the cab. I hit my head on it every time I get in the machine. I knew Brits made shit cars, now I guess I know they make shit heavy equipment as well.

This guy is a true master. I have never seen a backhoe used in this way. I didn't know the backhoe could be used while the machine was moving, only ever seen them used with the rear stilts down and the front loader bucket lifting up the wheels. Is this unique to the 4CX?

I tried a 4CX in Sweden for a short while during one day about 10 years ago, that had aftermarket modifications by Engcon (also Engcon controls), also had a Engcon tiltrotator, and I think it was Engcon that "fixed" it so it could do that. JCB might offer that natively now though.

It's modified by Engcon (confirmed by a comment on here), was done for the Scandinavian market as far as I know where it's a requirement, but suspect that Engcon would think they would do it in other markets as well if you give them some money 😉. Tried a modified 4CX 10 years ago in Sweden. Never tried a non-modified 4CX though, or any other JCB or similar backhoe, so I couldn't tell you the difference. Only operated a Huddig 1160D and it's not the same type of machine.

No disrespect intended, but can't really see the need for the greybeard in the trench, risking his health amongst the heavy metal. A small mod or added attachment and the JCB could operate every tool in the trench, quicker and more safely.
