Gotta admit, I don't think I've ever cared about the surveil lands having names. As far as I'm concerned they're called "a surveil land", and in some very few cases it also matters which colours they produce.

That's why we ban Aetherflux Reservoir from our play group and other stuff where you win out of nowhere. It's too much frustration, well if we play in competition why not it's the game, but in casual when all you have to do is waiting for that one card to come in play the fun is reduced imo. You will play this deck once, ok you'll surprise everyone with this instant win combo, well next time you play this deck I will hold at least one removal/counterspell only for this so your deck won't have any other way of winning. A fun deck for me is a deck that allows me to play it again, again and again and win in different manner each time or just making different play each game. It's sad that in a 100 card deck you only wait to get one card to win the rest is just accelerator to get this card. You play 10 tutor, 10 card draws and gg you won.

For 5-color, if it has to b the case, to encompass all I want for the deck (never for good-stuffs), e.g. the full Resounding cycle from Alara for my Cycling.dec, I’ll gladly go there cos any fewer colors like Gavi, jus won’t do. As mentioned, I don’t like it for good-stuffs & actually dislike quite a lot for the recent Ezio Auditore. Befor Creed, there was a big fat 0 Assassin in green & till now, still hardly any to pick from. I also don’t c the flavor-functional need to spill into green

From a personal perspective, I find red to be the best color, followed by black. Not necessarily for raw power, but because of their variability and explosiveness. Green is polar opposite, where its play lines are very linear - leading to similar, often non-reactive play styles. (Kinda dumb brute force.) Blue is more reactive, removing from others instead of furthering yourself. Its card draw feels cheap & easy, similar to green’s ramp/power accrual. White's in the middle, a combination of slow linear build, reactive play, & complex lines. - But red especially, and black, rely on moment-to-moment decision-making (impulse draw, rummaging, removal, burst ramp) and more complex play lines (spellslinger, reanimator, etc) to make value & win. Those elements feel a lot more rewarding to me & are the things that keep me coming back for EDH games.

My decks by colors - 1 color: 1 deck (Ardenn & Yoshimaru) - 2 colors: 3 decks (Rhys the Redeemed; Burakos (folk hero), and Minsc & Boo) - 3 colors: 5 decks (Marath (Kaheera companion); Dihada; Pantlaza; Urza, Chief Artificer; Cazur & Ukkima) - 4 colors: 3 decks (Atraxa, Breya, and Omnath) - 5 colors: 2 decks (Ur-Dragon and Esika legends) This is also not including my 4 Lord of the Rings decks too...

I'll always say Black > Green in higher powered casual games, Black has Coffers, worse Coffers, great synergy with Nykthos, various creatures that double mana, and the best rituals of any colour, top this off with lots of infinite mana combos makes Black easily the best ramp colour if you have a budget. Black is weak when it needs to remove non-creatures (and to an extent non-PWs), but it gets the best card draw and the best win cons, so it's very good at winning. If you want a fast and consistent deck for high powered casual just throw together all the Black ramp and various X spells that win if they're big enough, stuff like Torment of Hailfire and Exsanguinate, the kind of cards people clown on because they're so consistent. Oh, and Black has WAY better tutors than any other colours, it's arguably not even close, and this is why Black usually leads the mono-coloured deck count. For me when it comes to two colours I usually like to have Green, but tend to lean into the other colour much harder. Gruul is really fun, Rakdos CAN be really fun (some people have the Tao of Cool Rakdos Lists, and they are able to make incredible lists in the pair), I also like Golgari. I think the pairs I like the least are ironically Boros and Orzhov, followed Izzet, Selesnya, and Azorius to round out the bottom 5. I really don't like White pairs very much, I find White plays poorly with most other mono-colours, but it's very useful in 5C for it's smattering of staple spells. 3C decks tend to be very good at doing everything, unless you're in Grixis, but Grixis is REALLY good at drawing cards and winning, and it can protect it's wins effectively with counters. I love building Esper because you get such good interactions, but I think Jund is more fun because it does SMASHING (Kresh is a very fun Commander that more people should be introduced to), Gruul really loves adding Black for it's powerful Ramp (most of which uses Urborg, and Green is pretty good at cheating Urborg directly into play), though Black also offers more direct interaction vs creatures, and area Gruul suffers. I think 5C decks are a mixed bag, but I've ended up with 3 5C decks, Reaper King (without Scarecrows), Sisay (with Shrines and fast combos and a Progenitus), and a Rule 0 Partner pairing, the each look at the question of 'how to fix/ramp' in a different way, but each is pretty consistent about doing it's thing. I find 5C has access to some really sweet tutors, stuff like Wargate (it's better than Archdruid's Charm if you usually want a 0 mana permanent, like say a Land) and Bring to Light, both are bonkers in the right list, and both really want you to be in a versatile list. 5C also has access to Sisay, who can find Sisay and Zur (not a card that's both, just OG Sisay and OG Zur are both awesome tutors). The deck I might want to build next is probably Child of Alara, because I wanted the fancy Miku version, now I feel like I should build it! I love decks that are proactive about wiping, so I think it'll tide me over for awhile, until I finally break down and build 'All Wipes Optimus' and the world explodes.

3 color> 5 color Either u experienced more mana screw with 5 color, or the $$$land u need for 5 color deck is just not worth it
