I genuinely can't fathom if someone find Genesis likeable. What makes him likeable? I've played the OG Crisis core, and I always get the feeling that both he & Angeal do not really consider Sephiroth as their best friend. While Seph was willing to go against Shinra's wishes to not chase & destroy them, cause he sees Angeal & Genesis as his only friends. If you find Genesis likeable, you might see yourself in him in a way I guess?? a bad friend and a petty a$$hole.

I get what Max said about this "Genesis tells him everything instead of Sephiroth driving himself crazy to find it himself" but that actually happens. Adding Genesis here isn't bad. He tells him about Jenova and then Sephiroth goes into the mansion to find out by himself if Genesis' words were true or not.

Gotta give sephiroth credit though, even given the current situation overall, still prevented someone like genesis from getting more stronger which would've led to more chaos

Genesis is suffering a tragic fate. But his narcissistic and sadistic behavior makes it hard to ever feel pity for him. He is cruel to Sephiroth and takes some kind of sick enjoyment in it. Bitter that he was never on Sephiroth's level... In any sense. And then the raw ego to think that Sephiroth would join his side and help him.

I have to honest, I just don't get it. I mean I know that Genesis was brought into Crisis Core mostly to give some kind of Background to the mysterious SOLDIER G from Dirge of Cerberus and until this point it was okay. But from the Nibelheim incident on and further he just doesn't make any sense at all. His whole antagonist being stirs from him being an experiment with some alien DNA which results in him degrading/dying. So he wants: a) revenge on those responsible for being an experiment b) stopping his demise. For b he needs Sephiroths Jenova cells, whose he doesn't recive from Sephiroth. So instead of fighting Sephiroth for them or turning around, walking up some stairs and getting some cells from the source, he just fucks off. FOR 4 YEARS. And when Zack and Cloud are injected and experimented on with Sephiroths cells, which renders them completly defenseless FOR 4 YEARS, in a place he clearly should know about due to Hollander being part of the Jenova Project. Instead of going there and getting the stuff he so clearly wants, he again does fuck all. Instead he waits for them to escape and then go after them.
