Bearing in mind that this version of the Cobb was built in 1826, it’s done very well hasn’t it?

It's very sad for the people living there especially if they remember decades ago when the cliff edge was much further away. Now it's uninsurable, unsaleable and soon probably unliveable.

Amazing, I wish I could have seen it from here, but all I could see was the white glow from the Hinkley C construction site.

Well, we walked past this place on Wednesday 15th November and it appears to be totally trashed, inside and out. There's a skip outside with what looks like most of the kitchen in it plus a couch and a load of expensive looking tiles, most of what's in there is unidentifiable though as it's been smashed to matchwood. The cafe is still OK, and was untouched.

The only way to see the latest cliff falls. Why do those idiots try to walk to them.

Shame the sea did clear out the other remaining eyesores on that stretch of coast.

You have to feel for the owners but how was planning permission ever granted for a place so close to the sea?
@Fish-Eat-Sleep-Repeat Жыл бұрын
Don't feel sorry for them lol the have made hundreds of thousands from renting that place out! circa £2500 a night during summer! With reward comes risk. And the risk has shown up.

Good for them, no one forces anyone to pay that amount, it is voluntary. I don't see it as a cause for laughter.

Been there for many decades. Was bought for around 380k/ 400 before 2010 and renovated to high standard. Was like some retro Austin Powers shag pad before that.

The guys who designed and built the Cobb really knew what they were doing 😊
@AndreiTupolev Жыл бұрын
They did a good job constructing that wall 800 years ago. THAT doesn't need rebuilding every few years. Note how it's designed with the top sloping to seaward so that waves breaking over it return to the sea
