Why don't you backstitch after you have gone all the way around?
@makersleathersupply1220Күн бұрын
@MsVeile i go over the first few stitches again ans that locks them in the same as a back stitch.

do you have any recommenations for a sewing machine around $1200? I was looking at the weaver 303, sailrite leatherworker and Cobra 5550 BB Single Needle Boot Top
@makersleathersupply1220Күн бұрын
@misteryamato it just depends on what you're wanting to make and what size thread you want to use. The weaver 303 and sailrite are more upholstery machines, they will work well on the thin stuff though with thin thread. My honest advice is to save up a little more for a class 18 or 26. They're much more versatile and can be your "forever" machine.

@@makersleathersupply1220 Thanks for the info I was looking at the class 26 but its 300lbs and my space is limited here Im gonna be making wallets and what not. Not really bags off the get go

I’m wanting to get back into leather work and these look great so I ordered. I couldn’t find information on what all I would need such as specific glue or finish. I would have ordered more from you if I’d had access to a supply list.
@Heathen574 күн бұрын
Instead of Super glue, I go back to my roots as a mechanic and use the Locktite that is permanent. Gives you more work time .

Did i miss something here? You talked about measuring from the bendback to the hole most used to find the waist line. But where does the new buckle come into play, how do you figure the length of the buckle into it?

Bloody hell, how do you i do this on a car seats? :P
@makersleathersupply122011 күн бұрын
First off they'd have to be Vegetable Tanned Leather, which is rigid and difficult to upholster with. My suggestion would be doing the seats of a normal upholstery leather and doing patches out of the veg tan.
