His solos are unique to me in that they feel almost always necessary to their song, not just forced in because they needed to add some time to the track or just for the sake of a solo. They’re rarely anything like what you’d think of when you hear the term generic solo. Amazing guitarist and greatly underrated as well. Quite tired so may be incoherent

You play it great… But as a teacher… You suck! You think that people watching you play it can learn how to play it?

Well played. Almost perfect. John finger picks his part. Same pattern as Dear Prudence.

Excellent, Kenji-san! Most of the KZbinrs who attempt to replicate George's part in ISHST miss so much of it. But you did not miss it! Great job 🙂 (If only you had used a Duo Jet instead of the Strat. But I'm just quibbling.)

John and Paul, two of the greatest melodicists of all time, George had to match their greatness not by means of speed but sophistication, taste and beauty. What a band.

George used to say he never practiced his instrument. Think about that for a moment.

A little fuzzy. What the Beatles did was take an exercise many of us played, long ago, turning it into a riff. It's as clean as a whistle. There is fuzz (something still new, from a year earlier, made famous by Satisfaction in Summer '65), but it is squelched, never allowed to define the sound. The tune is crisp, clear, and precise. It took me more than a year to nail it, playing until "my fingers bled", at times. Usually, with fuzztone, you'd keep the treble turned down, but this one has it turned up all the way. I learned to play the song on my '65 SG. George had a 1964 SG, during the recording of Revolver, suggesting he may well have been playing And Your Bird Can Sing. The SG had a thinner tone, very distinctive from the Strat.
