Maybe you covered it and I just missed it, but what did you ever do for a "lid" or "cover" as a firewall for your fuel cell? I need to do something for my Pinto wagon to feel safer than the wood box the previous owner built in mine. Also, I grew up in Ankeny and live in Grimes! Was funny to hear the announcer say that when watching this vid! Had to rewind it a few times to make sure I heard it right lol!

Oh it was absolutely a waste of time. One had blown out rings and the other one broke a valve spring/retainer. Sold them both for $50 which is what it cost me.

Eaton says they will have a Truetrac available Q1 2024 for the 8.8 Super solid axle F150s... I cain't wait! Gonna lower the ratio, too, w/ a new ring-N-pinion. Thinking 3.73 from the existing 3.31. Motorvation is the 6R80 behind a 385HP 5.0 'yote.

So my 2013 f150 5.0 makes that whine like sound only when the AC or defrost is on. Air still blow cold and hot so i figure its not the AC compressor. Upon revving up is the only tine i hear it. Reolaced the idler pulley on the main belt, checked the tensioner pulley on the accessory side and it seems fine. Could it be the harmonic balancer? Extra load on it when i turn on defrost or AC?

50k on mine, smoked the belt pulling into work today. Not sure which pulley it is yet, I'm replacing tensioner pulley and the two idler pulleys. Sounds like I have a lifter knocking, not the typical noise I'm used to from a failed bearing. Upsetting I'm having to do this already on top of the horrible oil consumption. Anyone else having pulley bearings going bad this soon?

The piston speed on a 302 is much less than a 351 for the simple reason the stroke is shorter 3" vs 3.5" therefore less stress. The 302 rod is just fine for it's purpose. A set of ARP bolts would be an up grade.

Good runs, I couldn't see what RPM you were launching. Before my 16 was totaled I had it at Tulsa Raceway Park a few times. I was launching at about 4k and it was grabbing good, sometimes too good. But I really had to work the clutch and throttle together to keep the front down. Had a couple 6.39's but mostly 6.4's. K&N, Akrapovic mid pipe thru stock mufflers and Nash.

I had ride the twisties than burn it up on the strip trying to gain two tenths.
