I'll be doing this in the next week or so that's why I'm doing research. '06 F150 4.6 2V 4WD w/ 370k miles. It's the original rear and it's on it's way out. Time for an upgrade.

Eaton says they will have a Truetrac available Q1 2024 for the 8.8 Super solid axle F150s... I cain't wait! Gonna lower the ratio, too, w/ a new ring-N-pinion. Thinking 3.73 from the existing 3.31. Motorvation is the 6R80 behind a 385HP 5.0 'yote.

come do mine. My 8.8 sounds like a bag of marbles taking 90's at slow speed with the drive line unloaded. I really hate that sound. Are these trutracs quiet?

what if you use a c clip eliminator kit? the yukon 88 kit?does this change anything?

As long as your axle length is correct, it should be the same process. I would imagine you wouldn't add the axle spacer between the axles, but still put the retaining peg with the C clip in place. Otherwise it'll be imbalanced

@@BGJohnson thanks your the first to answer that,the axles are the same length but they do not push in any farther like the c clip axles do manly because the new bearing seat widens the axle housing by almost an 1"what I mean is you know how you would remove the c clips by pushing axle in than pull c clip than slide axle out...they no longer do that
