Is there a 1/2 in and 3/4 knockout thief running around that job site?! 🤔🙃 Seriously though it almost looks like every single knockout is knocked out in every single box that's seen in the video 🤔

EMT strapping looks random
@ZapZach-x7b
@ZapZach-x7b 3 ай бұрын
In what aspect? Each strap is 12" from each box. Per NEC Article 358.30 (A) "...EMT needs to be securely fastened 3' from each outlet box, junction box, device box, cabinet, conduit body or other tubing termination." So I actually went above the code. Kept them consistent and made them look clean.

@@ZapZach-x7b Come on! You can clearly see the spacing is not uniform. You certainly are no union electrician. You'd be off my job the same day. Also Homeboy straps can be further apart when conduit is verticle
@ZapZach-x7b
@ZapZach-x7b 3 ай бұрын
@@cruz47144 The only spacing not uniform is the strap coming from the single pole switch to the lamp. Nah man an electrician in training. However I hold other Union cards, if we want to play that game. I'd love to come work for ya and show ya what I got. A demo while in training doesn't hold justice to my true work ethic. Thus is why we are learning the game. Once a conduit is leaving a junction box in any direction it has to be within 3'. We chose to make it within 12". When I get to the job site I'll see what my foreman prefers. I know the code but I'll still inquire.

Thank you for watching. My apologies on not showing the panel. Its suppose to be 2 separate 15amp 2 pole circuits. Two pole circuit breakers share a neutral. They are connected with that little pin, bridging them together. Ran with 14-3 AWG. Thus two hots, one neutral and one ground. Circuit #1 (black wire) is the constant lamp 'on' while the circuit breaker is 'on'. So a straight series circuit for #1. Circuit #2 (red wire) has the single pole switch in a 4s box, controlling the lamp thus a series circuit. Circuits #1 & 2 are ran with 14-3 AWG thus housed in the same 1/2" EMT. Circuit #3 (black wire) controls the top receptacle (outlet) and is a series circuit. Circuit #4 (red wire) controls the bottom receptacle (outlet) and is a series circuit. Circuits #3 & 4 are ran with 14-3 AWG thus housed in the same 1/2" EMT. I hope this clarifies any questions.

@user..alphabet You're probably one of the ones that wouldn't explain how .25 of the circumference gives us a take-up of 5" huh. We're waiting for it and see how many days this will take you
@ZapZach-x7b
@ZapZach-x7b 3 ай бұрын
@@manok1117 your probably one of the individuals whom didn't pay attention to the definition of 'Take-Up'. They are predetermined measurements from the manufacturer. It's the amount of conduit used to form the bend. If you measure your length & height of the pipe after the bend it will equal the Developed Length. The 'Developed Length', is Length + Height - Gain. Gain is the distance saved by the arc of a 90 degree bend. So if I'm understanding you correctly. You are trying to say '.25 of the circumference' which is 90 degrees. With a take up of 5". So a 'Take-Up' of 5" has to be a 1/2" EMT pipe (per p.169 UGLY'S). If you were to make a 90 degree bend on 1/2" EMT you will be loosing 5" of your EMT to make a 90 degree bend. Thus the 'Take-Up'. Something to consider when measuring and cutting pipe. I'll be awaiting your reply.
