Wish I saw this video a few years back, beautiful video I will be trying to focus in on a lot of these tips! <3

I started my art journey on screenless, I then "upraded" to screen a 21 inch drawing monitor and my hand is always in the way to see what Im doing, my back hurt more and my eyes hurt more. now, I back to my trust 10x6 Gaomon tablet for 50 bucks and my 28 inch 4k monitor and that is much better. simple wins out

You just changed my life, not even being dramatic this video made me understand line art, pressure sensitivity, and digital art in a way that’s literally going to save my art 🙏🏻

Bro, I’ve been struggling just find out there is a stream line function on brushes. This has been a major headache saver, sometimes having to redraw some longer more complex lines has been killing me. I am saved 😭🙌

Finally, line art advice that's actually useful instead of just "Are your lines bad? Just draw every day until it isn't lmao" Also THANK YOU for including information about actual digital art tools like streamline and liquify, I've never seen an art tutorial that actually includes these things 😭🙏 Mfs be acting like it's trade secrets or smth

Much needed. Thank you for taking the time to explain the process. Most digital art tutorials tend to speed through the line art and get right down to coloring and shading.

Exactly. :3 Screenless tablets have better posture, as I often say. I have the XP-PEN Deco Pro MW, which was good with the shortcuts on my non-touchscreen laptop, but not so good with touchscreen, and the XP-PEN Deco Fun Small. You can do gestures with touchscreens, which mostly works (some apps, ehh) and Krita, the best art program, has the brilliant Pop-up Pallette, which I have activated with my botton pen key, and my undo is my top key. You can press down with a stylus to have it pop-up, but I prefer the button since it's quite easier. I have Krita's settings for the drawing/painting with the screen, to pan and rotate without markings. I love the minimalistic setup, and touchscreen laptop, and smartphone. Shalom. <3

Unironically one of the best videos I've ever seen it the art help space. I think my tablet has neither palm rejection nor smoothing, but the things you said will come in handy

I’m so glad it still helps you ☺️ many have commented that they can’t do the techniques since they have a different app, but a lot of the techniques even work traditionally 😅

Oh so YOU CAN overshoot. The fact that it even has a name is baffling to me. I always thought it was bad that I drew long ass line and deleted part of them because I couldn't stop where I wanted shdhdjkd

Hey I want to give you a tip for making videos... The part at the end where you show the before and after is actually, to me, the most interesting part of the video, so I think you should mention it at the very start of the video so people know it won't be just some random drawings for 7 days but that you're building towards what you'll reveal at the end... so while watching the whole video people can think "I wonder if she'll remember this stuff" while looking forward to finding out. Art-wise honestly I thought "there's no way she'll remember anything" at first because you listed a million things to study at the start, stuff that each is worth investing months and years into... X) To give a personal example, I've been filling a page to improve my hands for 10 days now and I ended up finding a hand on Sketchfab and drawing the same hand day after day after day from different angles, as that helps me focus on how the geometry rotates instead of trying to learn everything at once (poses, bones, muscles, veins, age, skin folds, texture, color, gender, fat, foreshortening, movement range, translucency, stylization, XD ) .... Would absolutely love to see a video just like this one where you pick a hyper narrow focus and show how much you improved at the end, I'm curious.

Thanks for making a video on this, I’ve been trying to figure out how to do as much as I can to study anatomy in a week so I can actually draw faster and with more confidence, I stared with faces so far and I’m definitely not doing 100 pages 😅 (35 most likely, just so I can finish my sketchbook) and showing your process/progress actually makes it seem doable! Also, if anyone else is going to do this I suggest looking up videos on different ways to hold a pencil while drawing, I watched a few and while they’re mainly to avoid hurting your hand permanently, I realized I think I draw so tiny because my handwriting is also very small, and changing your grip, while a big learning curve, makes it easier to use your whole arm to draw (and not damage your wrists!) so it’s worth it if you’re planning on drawing for hours! (I also found a way that makes it way easier for me to see the paper and draw, I’m a lefty and I started to hold my pencil between my middle and pointer finger and it surprisingly helped a lot, I don’t remember which videos I watched but I’m sure they won’t be too hard to find.)
