Does anybody remember RTS #9110? It was the ONLY one in the first batch with sliding windows, every other window.

I figure that 5865 at 1:57 must have been a demonstrator. AFAIK, RTD/MTA never ran slantback RTS's. Long Beach Transit did late 70's, but when RTD got them in 81, they were all square.... I did some research.. RTD was looking into a new color scheme, and they test printed the 3 stripe on 3 different buses. One was an OCTD Grumman 870, one was a fleet New Look, and the 3rd was a slantback RTS from Montebello Bus lines. All 3 buses were fake numbered 5865.

Them buses were awesome back then in the 70s and 80s. We had the ones with the back doors that were four vertical doors that opened in a folded position o n both sides

Does anyone know the two route numbers that would originate at Union Station and stop at Lankershim and Burbank in 1980? Were the buses on both routes full length or one of the shorter ones shown? Would also appreciate if anyone knows what the color schemes were. I wonder if the routes exist today.

My homeboy did the Olmec . We painted there back in the days R.T.N, S.T.G ! R.I.P Belmont Tunnnel. I think if they started to save the Belmont n preserve it back in 99 when we did the” A Day in the West” paint out and also All the West coast rappers came n took a pic in front of station “Tupac” portrait on one side “Easy E” on other that’s now in the Smithsonian Inst. it probably would’ve been possible.

I didn’t know that the 120 would go all the way to the Brea Mall. Wow! Also I recall the buses at 2:21, 6:37, the 2929 one and the smaller twinkie bus ones growing up late 90s-mid 2000s. Good memories with a lot of character on those buses. Definitely LA.

I am old enough that I once was able to ride the train through the tunnel from the tunnel opening to downtown Los Angeles. I was absolutely fascinated that the train ran underground and ended up under a large building. It is a fond memory. I am so sad to see that the remnants are now tucked away in an expensive apartment complex that the folks in the neighborhood can't afford to live in. I wonder what archeologists a few hundred years from now will make of this.
