Are you saying that the fire display cannot be turned on without the heater?

You can operate the fire display without the heater. The thermostat has to be set at the temperature manually with the side knob. It will turn on if the temp falls below what you set it at on the side and off when the room temp gets above that setting. There is a 10 sec delay. So it's sort of trial and error setting that knob to where you want it. The remote lets you adjust the two speeds but you can't remotely just turn the heater off. You have to manually turn the knob down to the zero setting. I will not be using the heater. Just leave the knob setting at zero and it does not turn on. Hope that helps

I'm sure it was never your intention when you posted this nearly 7 years ago, but you have just provided a newlywed DIY couple the confidence that we can install this ourselves instead of having to pay Lowe's $150 for install. Also, just curious, what size breaker is your microwave on? Ours is on a 15A, which would probably be fine if it were dedicated, but it's also hooked up to the same circuit as our garage door and the outlet that I have my table saw hooked up to (looks like I may not be using the saw for awhile until I can get a subpanel put in).

Mine worked like this with ranch. I thought it was because it used ranch that it didn’t flow over the tiers evenly and it was loud. Now I know that’s just how liquids flow from the nostalgia fountain… not evenly like the box. Thanks!
