I started with crochet, I am now learning to knit. My advice for beginners is to practice with swatches for a while before actually trying to make any kind of project. I did a few and jumped right into making stuff that didn't turn out so great. Now I am working on learning more stitches and taking my time to perfect my craft.

My directions for rnd 3 are different. It is " (k1, m1L, k2, m1R, k1) 4 times". Have you substituted the kfb for those? I am using the musselburgh pattern from Ysolda and now don't know how to proceed after rnd 4. Should I restart and do what the pattern says for rnd 3 or somehow adapt the pattern using kfb instead?

Sorry Holly it’s me again, after my last comment moving forward to round 5 are you basically just replacing m1L and m1R with kfb’s? Which I believe will make it easier 😊
@deniselouvet34993 ай бұрын
Hi Holly, thank you for your video. I have a question I have the pattern in front of me and on round 3 you do it differently as regards the increases. You do kfb instead of m1L and m1R. Please note that I am a complete beginner. Why do this? 😊

This was extremely helpful! I have started this and slowly (scared) to mess up. I forgot to place my marker at the beginning of the round. There was a lady that helped me get started so she did the cast on for me and place a yarn marker at the beginning. So I am thinking I can place my marker in that area but at the beginning of the next round, if tis makes sense .... 🤔

How can i do it Toe Up? And how does IT Work with different sizes? If you have different numbers of stitches, different foot length , different gauge etc????

Toe up, you just use a ball winder and reverse it. But you will wind up cutting the yarn after you finish the toe.

While these are fun, they only work for a “standard” foot. You have to cast on 64 stitches, you dont have the option to make the leg longer or shorter. If you have a high instep, you wont be able to make a larger heel flap. And if you wear a bigger size shoe (larger than a size 9), the solid toe color ends up being REALLY long and looks ridiculous. Just some things to consider.
@knottedrealm6 ай бұрын
Yes, this is true! As long as you stay within the parameters of 64 stitches and want a standard vanilla sock knitted for a standard foot, you’re golden.

I don’t like making anything in pairs. No socks or gloves for me! I lose interest/focus. I made it through Sophie’s Universe blanket book of 216 pages because it was challenging. But I can’t make it through a one page pattern twice. 😆 Oh, and I won your giveaway! Thank you so much! I’m sending you my info right now.

This is so interesting! I can totally see that. If I don't cast on the second one in a pair of something right after I finish the first, it becomes a whole ordeal for me to want to do it. There's no stinkin way I'd make it through 216 pages of a pattern lol. Hats off to you my friend!

Oh my, that fox experience was a little scary!! Foxes do make some strange sounds!! We occasionally see them around our neighborhood too. I would highly recommend taking pepper spray in case of a more vicious loose dog. I had a some loose German Shepherd that attacked my small dog. I barely had to use it, but it worked. It saved my dog's life.
