The only exposure to James Freud and the band via mass media made me think of them all a certain way. But reading both of James'/Colin's books made me realise how difficult, stressful and utterly weird it is to have even a small amount of fame and notoriety. Especially in a little pond like Australia.

If compare the other guy talk boxing to roger troutman, u can hear how roger whispers very loudly to make the talkbox effect. Hes the master so far as 2024. I havent seen anyone who can toxbox which such good accents , especially his whisper

I'm going down memory lane with this one. When I was 16, back in the 80s, I somehow ended up backstage after one of their shows and I had my first kiss from drummer, Barton Price. It didn't go further than that, because I was young, but who could ask for more for a first kiss? I still have a drumstick he gave me.

Out of sight. They had jazz leanings too .That explains the added complications ,& syncopation, tension,& release .Fantastic in every way .What a great subdued voice on Sean to add to the mix.

I got up this morning and I could hear this amazing tune playing in my head, and was thinking what an amazing piece of timeless work it is , to add to all the rest of the post indie/ electronic/ new wave sound that defined and encapsulated the Australian progression and massive swing from Rock to Electronic music from the 80s till right here right now. That is 16 / 8 / 2024 - Sydney Australia.

Zebra stripes? Check. Popped collars? Check. Horns? Check. A bunch of Australians? Check. Denim vest? Check. Guy with a pony tail? Check. Keyboard? Check. Mullet? Check. An entire industrial drum of coke just off camera? Double check. Okay, that's settles it. This is the most 80s thing on mother earth.

Our friend, James sister who is in this video passed away only months ago. We were Ansett hosties and she missed her brother James so much and always spoke of him with so much love! They now rock on together!🥰🥰🥰

I’m so very sorry to hear about your friend, James’ sister. I saw the band once in Philly. I found James on MySpace in ‘08 I think and we had a nicest. Recommended that I follow his son’s band which I did. I asked him if he saw the gifts I gave a roadie to give the band. I asked Sean years earlier and he hadn’t. James received the battery operated bartender hand which they had fun with but not the beautiful illustration my sister drew of the band. I then told him that I found out the drawing didn’t leave the venue and became part of the venue’s archive. I found it hanging backstage to be seen anytime someone goes to and from the stage ❤️ I wish I still had our messages. May they both Rest In Peace. Deepest condolences to the family.🙏🏼🙏🏼

Great song, great album!!! Had the cassette tape of this album back in the day. Played it so much I wore it out and had to buy another. Great Aussie band from the '80's! This album and anything INXS were my go to driving music back then. Graduated High School in '84... Was "legal" (21yrs old in the States) in '87 and the club scene was crazy back then as was any college bar with a dance floor. Love the backup singers in this video and "Cold Fever"... Miss the days of fit looking ladies, in form fitting skirts, black hose and heels. Man I wish I could go back... To be young in the '80's was a great time!

Thank you James for sharing this song with us and your pain. Not convincing unless you have been there, and you have. You are with the Lord now, I know you will see Barbados and the surfing will be good. Both amazing and sad that those most gifted are the ones that suffer the most. Gods speed James, you rest in peace, you have done your Job here. God Bless you mate. To your loved ones James, I offer my deepest condolences, what a loss to this day and always, the great honor of knowing you I hope will carry them through.. sincerely, Rob
