I bought a Yamaha PSS-380 around March or April this year even though I also have a PSS-280 that I bought way back in March of 2006 ( I used to really like playing my own arrangements of traditional nursery rhymes and public domain songs using the auto accompaniments especially as back then I didn't know how to do multi track song covers ). I also have a PSS-680 which I bought around April or May in 2021 and the styles on the PSS-380 are in fact slightly scalled down version of the PSS-680's styles whereas the PSS-280's 20 styles sound more like your typical 80s home keyboard styles. I have also always liked the lofi PCM drums on these late 80s Yamaha Porta Sound keyboards.

I personally like these older 80s and early 90s keyboards because of their lofi sound. You did a brilliant job playing both the chord progressions and the melody especially with those small keys! The Yamaha PSS-790 actually came out in 1990 and was the successor to the PSS-680 which came out in 1988 but used FM synthesis for the sounds and only PCM/AWM samples for the drums. I believe the PSS-795 actually came out in 1991 or 1992. I actually have 2 PSS-790s, I bought the first one in February or March 2008 but one of the buttons stopped working which is why I bought another PSS-790 in early 2022. I did also get a rubber button repair kit so I might see if I can get the other PSS-790 working again in the future as I have some unfinished projects I did using the original PSS-790 ( I tend to do multi track recordings rather than use auto accompaniments ).

Hello Dirk, Does the AK-X1100 has the Style [RESET/TAP TEMPO] button (included in the PSR- SX700), or a similar function that allows for immediate resetting to the beginning of the bar. This feature is handy for synchronizing with singers or adjusting to changes in time signatures? Thank you.

@@qv6792 There is no pre-defined button, but you can assign this function to one of the three assignable buttons above the joystick. The tap tempo button is there though.

@@qv6792 You need a cable with two 6.3mm mono plugs and a 3,5 mm stereo plug at the other end. The two mono plugs go into the output of the moXF6. The stereo plug into the line in of the PSR SX700. Move the volume of the moXF6 to about the maximum level. You will now hear the sound of the moXF6 through the PSR-SX700 speakers. Now you can simply use the audio record function of the PSR-SX700 to record the sound of both instruments together.

beautiful ! . not 3 chords like the new pop, where they repeat 1 identical line 24 times. they said it needs to be a simple chord progression plus a melody hat repeats many times, so people learn it fast...Bad idea, boring songs on the radio. a few amazing ones, yes.
