Great video, showing what we thought was the best spot on the OLT. We had the place to ourselves when we first did the Track way back in 2017. We were surprised that most walkers took the ferry out and missed the jewel of the OLT. Good to see a different view from the canoes. 👍 Still so much stunning scenery there.
@two_in_tasmania6 ай бұрын
@warwickpeople5140 I think that's why it's one of the best sections of the OT - less travelled by most. So perhaps less spoilt. A Tassie gem. Thanks for watching.

Hi mate. ✌ I'm looking at getting these boots. How have they fared 5 years on?
@two_in_tasmania Жыл бұрын
dhingus6699, my Scarpa's have held up really well. Tassie environment has thrown everything at them and externally I have no issues or leaks. Internally the lining is getting a bit worn around the ankle area, but for the age still is good shape.
@dhingus6699 Жыл бұрын
Awesome Good to hear. Yea I ended up getting a pair. And am in the process of breaking them in. The only thing that I've found so far is that on wet surfaces they slip too much for comfort. Wearing a pack this could be a real issue, on a wet log or something. Losing your footing under load could be nasty.

What an interesting shaped mountain. But an amazing view from the top! Thanks so much for sharing it. The only mountains I've seen the top of are Mount Wellington (drove there) and Mount William in the North-East, which was about a ten-minute walk. Hi Maria, there are so many options, and all provide you with special views. This time of year brings no concern regardless of the track you take. As it's been very dry and warm of late. Go up one track and come down on another. Hope you enjoy your walk.

I've seen a few of your videos now. Well done. I have a quick question. Which hike is easiest and quickest, Hanson's Peak or Marion's lookout? If you start from near Dove Lake Boatshed
@two_in_tasmania2 жыл бұрын
That depends on the destination Mannie. Marions is probably slightly easier as the chain section is 3 short easy parts. Hanson's chains are a lot longer and steeper requiring more pulling yourself up. But probably less people up Hansons, as most day trippers go up for their short dash to Marions and back.
@mannietravels2 жыл бұрын
@@two_in_tasmania destination is return back to the carpark near Dove Lake boatshed. So it looks like it's Marion's Lookout for me. The view from Hanson's peak looks a little more spectacular to me.

Hey guys. I’m in Canberra thinking of taking all my belongings (easily a small truck load), my car and my dog. Do you have any hot tips/ costs to consider? (Like how much for example). That could be a deciding factor for me. Thanks in advance.
@two_in_tasmania2 жыл бұрын
Gremlin, our best tip would be to downsize as much as you can. Removalists charge a.l.o.t., so the less you need to shift the cheaper it will be. And be very specific with the removalists - make them aware of everything that needs to be taken with a detailed list so they are aware, as they'll try to gouge more money out of you if you have large or odd sized items ( for us it was our kayaks - even though we mentioned it previously to them, so get it in writing ). If you cant fit everything in to you own car, there is no escaping the fact it will be a hassle and stressful. But accept that, and all the effort will be worth it once the move is done. So worth it. Good luck.

Amazingly, a friend of ours did her knee at almost the same spot (frog flats) during our winter hike in 2012. I slept well that night.. 😵
