Describe the handloads please 😊. Lever, CFE223 are the usual suspects. Ive done CFE223 with 105's, my barrel likes it, but Im gonna play around with the 112gr by barnes and see how it goes. good day.
@ShooterOpinionsАй бұрын
The load I used in the video is 107gr SMK over Varget. It was once a friend used in his gas gun and not specific to this build. I still need to play with handloads for it.

The reason why they have gone away from using chrono at muzzle end, is because down range, the errors "appear" to be reduced. Im thinking they want to cover up, mask ammunition inconsistencies and they want better statistics. By having a chrono near the muzzle, it tells the truth. And the truth hurts sometimes. They cannot make the ammunition accurate enough, and price you are paying for MATCH ammo is ridicules anyway. Every manufacturer wants to look good on paper, and by moving the chrono downrange, it is going to give them those biased figures to make them and their ammo look good. Sorry, i disagree with the idea of moving the chrono down range, as it is masking errors in the ammunition and that is NOT what you want. Bottom line is, they need to make better MATCH ammo, and it looks like this is really challenging them, so they are fiddling with the figures to make them look much better than what they really are.

The only problem with the 700 tactical is a lack of chamber offerings.....id like to have a 700 tactical with an 18 inch bull barrel in 30,06....or 300 win mag....or 270

Does it share Tenon/prefit dimensions with any other commonly prefit actions on the market? Like for example the Aero Solus taking Zermatt Origin prefits, or is it going to be something that will take some time for barrel manufacturers and smiths to start offering?
@ShooterOpinions8 ай бұрын
You may have to reach out to them but I believe it’s shares a Remington 700 style barrel tenon with a slightly different headspacing or something.

A lot of people don’t realize that high quality optical glass in the US goes to DoD for satellites, aircraft and weapons optical sensors, medical devices, microscopes, surveying equipment, and other applications where the contractors are mandated to use Berry Amendment compliant components.
@ShooterOpinions11 ай бұрын
I thought that Berry compliance was only related to clothing. That makes sense if it's a broader scope than just clothing.

@@ShooterOpinions Aircraft, vehicles, tires, buildings, semiconductors, rocket motors, food, wiring, services, you name it. Even raw materials need waivers. It was a huge scandal when they found out General Shinseki and that stupid beret fiasco involved Chicom-made berets sold to the US Army. Berry Amendment compliance is serious business, and get you into deep trouble even if you didn't know one of your suppliers sourced foreign materials without sign-off.

why is this better than 8.6 blackout
@ShooterOpinions Жыл бұрын
I built this before the 8.6 Blackout. I believe the advantage of the 8.6 is the ability to shoot supersonic with respectable velocity. I built this with no intention of supersonic so I think the case capacity makes it easier to load subsonic. If I had slightly less case capacity I think I would have more powder options. Even so, I don't think I would have done it differently.
@ryanharte528 Жыл бұрын
Why is the 8.6 using a 1:3 twist.
@ShooterOpinions Жыл бұрын
No idea. I think it's trying to be different. Im plenty stable with subsonic 300 grain bullets at 1:6 twist.

So many R 700 clones out there. What are these actions real selling points? What sets them aside from the rest of them? Are these geared more towards the prs guys or are bench and f classers going to benefit from them as well?
@ShooterOpinions Жыл бұрын
I think what really sets them apart is the people behind the products. Besides a few features that are largely preferences for the consumer, they are very similar in quality, materials, and precision. When everything is so similar it really comes down to who you want to do business with.
