So you don’t tell us how to dry incubate. What temp? How many days till lockdown etc

Sorry for the late response, I incubated them just like I normally would. 99.5 degrees, 18 days, lockdown on 16

I heat with wood so room temperature isnt stable. Do you think the 360 would keep a consistant temperature? My room temp varies between 45 and 70. Considered a heating pad but new ones turn off automaticly after a few hours.

Don't buy this incubator. There is NO customer service. The egg turner stopped after one use. It will not resent as per instructions. They will not respond to multiply message and they have no phone number. There must be a lot of complaints to not have any phone number.

75 humidity is good! Nothing above that though. Nothing below 20% before day 15 and nothing below 60% to higher than 75% for lockdown. I always leave the birds in til they are dry or atleast 24-36 hours the ruckus will make the other eggs hatch out. 🎉

Trying to go for first dry hatch here in CO. Cannot for the life of me find humidity levels for dry hatch as ppl have said it isn’t 0% (d:0-15) & (d:16-18) in the dome. Trying to get a hatch rate above 8/25. Thx and awesome vid.

They are so adorable 🥰 I have a heating plate for the chicks when they arrive, but it doesn’t have the digital temp feature that allows me to dial in the temp I want for them, it goes up to the mid 100s will that hurt or kill them? The one I got has a red cone like thing to place on top of the heat plate so the chicks can get on top of it and poop
@themillershomestead
@themillershomestead Жыл бұрын
As long as they have room to get out from the plate they should be ok! If it's possible I try to adjust my plates so the front sits a little higher than the back so they can gradually move to the back of the plate if they need to get warmer

I plan on doing another batch here in a few weeks and will dry hatch those too. Whether or not it's 100% better than regular incubation can be debated but since I got 85% hatch rate it's at least a legitimate way to incubate. Good luck!

Nice to see back Tyler! Yeah, I know you are very busy. I still really look forward/enjoy the videos whenever the come out. I watch MI Gardner, the Gardening Channel with James Prigoni, Nicolas Green Outdoors, Tarva gård because they are a farming/Swedish channel and have been learning Swedish for two and a half years. And a bunch of other channels. Those ducks or geese, I bet they are great to have but when they honk like that it would probably eventually get on my nerves as well after a while. I have a stuffed Canada Goose, I called him Godfrey no honking lol. I have a Shih Tzu but he more or less snorts but they all have different meanings, I found over the years. For example, if my dog snorts really fast he is excited, slow means his tired, and if it is long and drawn out that means he is mad or unimpressed. I wish summer a safe and speedy recovery!

No, if you are raising your own backyard flock vaccines are not necessary if you maintain good bird and coop hygiene

I don't care how much you know about anything, but, whoever Rudy is, when you were so RUDY to her, "I'm trying to make a video here" how self-centered, maybe you should go back to a real job and see how far that self centered attitude gets you out there!😂👎😊

I haven't watched the video back lately but Im assuming you misheard Ruby as Rudy, which is my dog. As far as a real job, I am the vice president of a multimillion dollar manufacturing company. You got to see one little snippet of my life and tried to make an attitude judgement and it turned out to be incorrect. Perhaps we all should be a little less eager to rush to form negative opinions. Hope you have a good day!

Zack from Myshire Farm says after 10 weeks mix in a layer mix for a week then change to layer only. Starter/grower : 26% protien 1.5% calcium Layer feed : 16% protien 3.5% calcium Lower protien in the winter also helps keep the hutches less stinky, when you may not be cleaning your cages as regularly. More protien = more ammonia, potentially toxic in winter closed-in hutch areas. (Well, maybe not toxic, but mo'stinky).

@jessesig1454 Жыл бұрын
I’m guessing mine stopped because of the feed. I’ll have to see. Hard to find anything above 22% even the game feed is 22% here
@tullyriverquail
@tullyriverquail Жыл бұрын
Research this. High protien grower feed usually has only %1.5 calcium. You need 3.5%. The protien is beneficial in the growing/starter feeds, but it's the calcium that counts when they are all growed up & layin' . %15/16 Protien is fine at maturity, and you can always add a bit with dried bugs. I feed my Bobwhite thin slivers (.2" x 1" +/_) of salmon skin peeled from our grilled salmon lunches with a little of the blood line (dark) meat, and a handful of brusselsprout leaves a few times a week. They go nuts when they see me coming with "treats".

My quail have completely stopped laying and even the males have stopped mounting also. Usually I have to give the female a break from the males because they lose all their feathers on the back of their neck. Not of that any more. I'm thinking that it's the weather. I'm in Thailand so the temperature is fine but we've had a lot of rain this year. Even the broiler chickens have stopped laying/brooding. At one point I have 15 hutches with chicks and now I have 1 and I incubate the eggs myself. I will add a light though and see if that helps.

Yes we still have a few quail left. I've had a few die on me this year and missed my chance to incubate and hatch some out. (I don't like starting this late with chicks after my experience last year with a late batch of chickens haha) we are just collecting eggs for now and not harvesting for meat

Did you have a good summer? I had a mix of a productive and somewhat relaxing summer. After being gone for 8 months away from school after loosing my grandfather, I decided it was best to get back to a normal routine and take some online courses. Also, I got in touch with a Swedish online friend (s) after a long time and started learning the language again. Along with Russian, I have been learning on and off since high school. I am taking less courses now 2-3 per- semester is enough. I stopped following many daily gaming streamers most of them. I was getting too distracted. Its too bad, I couldn't go out walking more but my asthma and allergies were very bad this summer! I got some medication from the doctor so, hopefully next year will be different.
