@@apexpredatoroutdoors8308 My complaint with the DNR is the .450 Bushmaster is an offspring (ballistically) to the 45/70 the case length limit in this case makes no sense. Take a look at the 30-30/.350 legend, and .360 Buckmaster/ .35 Marlin comparison. Whomever thought this case limit law apparently did not take ballistics into consideration. Glad it worked out for you...

@ralphbernieri3362 the DNR did not make the law. They just enforce it. You can thank the former governor Snyder and the state congress at the time for the law that makes no sense. I'm not sure why people are upset by it, because it's better than before when you couldn't use any rifle at all.

@@apexpredatoroutdoors8308 Funny, no one even wants to discuss the reasoning behind it, or who was responsible. BESIDES they make exceptions like telling someone to cut down a shell! THE DNR advised me to do that! Besides, I bet you a double cheeseburger a lobbyist pushing an agenda for ammo/firearms political influence. The law allowed handgun cartridges, but not in a carbine/rifle type weapon. SO, they change the law and now modern loading allows "legal" ammo to match/exceed older bottle neck ones...it;s a rather silly joke again invented by unaware politicians.

1. After reaching ground, how did you retrieve the ends of your rope that were 10-12’ up? 2. Are you repelling directly on the friction hitches? If so, any concerns with overheating the hitch cord? How often are you inspecting/replacing hitches?
@apexpredatoroutdoors8308

I have a pull down cord to retrieve the tethers. I have been rappelling on the friction hitches, yes, but I go slow. I am also on 2 separate friction hitches for the first part of the rappel. I use the upper tether stirrup hitch in conjunction with the hitch to the bridge. I look at the hitches and the rest of the rig before each hunt. The sterling trc has a high temp sheath, and hasn't overheated yet. Not saying that it can't, but so far there hasn't been an issue. I have been replacing the main hitch cord , (bridge to tether) for 1 season and then using that cord for something less critical.

Very well done, thank you. I don't know if your gun will do this, but you can try. I have a TC Hawken, and I can pull the set trigger, and then pull the firing trigger, with the hammer down. I don't have to hold the hammer, or protect the nipple with leather or whatever. (I realize you were showing the functions of trigger and hammer, and you may already know this.) It makes dry fire practice so much more effective because you can hold the rifle as you normally would. This is my first double set trigger, and it is so light, it feels like a wind gust could set it off. I need a LOT of practice!

@apexpredatoroutdoors8308 I didn't say to shoot a 445 in a T4 chamber. I was just comparing the basic case size and power level.
