Just found this video and I have to say that was exactly my experience in CS. I also made almost the same exact choices as you and although I don't regret, the process definitely taught me to be better and by my junior year I had managed to get the grasp of it after learning to code first in college. Also as a girl I really didn't have much enthusiasm for it initially but I liked a challenge and it definitely grew on me. It's easy to feel intimidated in the beginner more gate-keeping courses but if you can make it through your skills will improve and by the time you reach advanced courses, things will start to fall into space.

instead of doing all these complicated operations and memorizing steps, how about just get all the nodes, put them in an array, reverse the array, and then turn it back into a linked list, and return the linked list?

IT IS ALL ABOUT MILKING MONEY , LETS FACE IT BEING AN EMPLOYEES MEANS BEING A SLAVE LIKE IT OR NOT.. I AM AN ENGINEER AND THE WAY FORWARD FOR ME IS MILKING MONEY.. BASICALLY GETTING MONEY WILL LESS WORK POSSIBLE..AND EVERYONE SHOULD DO THAT UNLESS YOU ARE SOME FREAK AND REALLY ENJOY CODING (THESE ARE NOT NORMAL PEOPLE THEY HAVE NO LIFE AND THEY ARE NERDS... THESE ARE THE REAL PROGRAMMERS PEOPLE SHOULD HIRE BUT THEY ARE SCARCED VERY SCARCED)..... CODING DOESN'T SUCKS BECAUSE IT PUT FOOD ON THE TABLE AND PAYS YOUR LUXURY LIFESTYLE (OK IS NOT MILIONAIRE LIFESTYLE) BUT WHAT ARE THE ALTERNATIVES?? DO YOU HAVE OTHER OPTIONS?! ALL JOBS SUCKS REALLY ... YOUR DREAM SHOULD BE MAKING A BUSINEES OWNING A COMPANY MARRY SOMEONE RICH... UNTIL THEN YOU NEED MONEY LOTS OF MONEY TO BE HAPPY AND INSTEAD BEING A CLEANER BETTER BE A DOCTOR OR CODER... I AM JUST SAYING

One of the problems with mathematics taught in the math department for CS people is that CS people generally tend not to be morning people, but math people tend to be morning people. So you got CS people who have to come in at something like 7AM… after hacking until 2-3AM and yeah, that doesn't quite work.

My younger brother is also great at video games! He used to major in Information Tech as his degree. Lastly, he dropped out of college. He decided to work instead. By the way, congratulations on completing your degree in Computer Science. I am very proud of you! Good luck with your job as coding the algorithms. God bless you and your family. 🙏

Remember folks, you don't need to go to a good school (or really any school besides basic education), you don't need good grades, or work for some famous company to be successful. The world will ALWAYS need problem solvers; there are a lot of problems, and there always will be. There are also a lot of angles to work your way to solutions. Don't worry about the top 10 % or any other digits for that matter, just concentrate on understanding things and how that can help you and the companies out there. And when it comes to passion, a word people love to throw around, it often doesn't exist when you start. What you should have, is a love, need, or want to get better. When you have that, you will go through the hard work of learning stuff and eventually, when you get good at it, that passion can light inside you. That happened to me in my career and also playing music. I wasn't super passionate in the beginning, but I tried, failed, tried, failed, tried, failed thousands of times until I reached a level where I could create. That's when the passion kicked in. So, don't worry about stuff, and just get going. Don't worry about the best courses or books, pick one book and finish it. And when you are studying with that book, do the tasks and then venture out, test out different things so that you work out how things really work. It's like when you start going to the gym, just pick one program and do it consistently for a year without worrying if it's optimal.

I have worked in big and small companies. You are spot on. Small has their own problems with keeping up your wage but you can have an actual work life balance. The big ones pay you a ton for a reason. They suuuuuck. You have sleepless on-calls, extreme red tape, your impact feels tiny, I write more documents on changes I want to make then actually changing them. It feels like I work the amount for 3 engineers without the part of getting actual work done. You are usually surrounded by overpaid managers (usually yes men) that will try to drive you into the ground. It's a pretty terrible feeling.

I have had a ton of managers in big and small companies as well. In the small there were some poor managers but there were a ton of really great and understanding managers. I have only experienced bad managers at big companies who will alienate you.
