Do you have any advice on toe fungus. I got a toe nail fungus on one of my big toe nails and had to stop going to these salons and I’m just really hoping I can cure it at home inside seeing a doc
@erykaolsen761417 сағат бұрын
For pour and store, do you store it with the lid on or off so that it can get harder
@abetweene13 сағат бұрын
i generally let it cool for about 30 mins then lid on.
@erykaolsen761411 сағат бұрын
@ OK thank you for those instructions. And also just to be clear., The batch that was left out on the counter for one week you cook that for about 240°, let it cool for 30 minutes put the lid on and then in about seven days it should be harder, consistency, correct?

Why is the application of the wax in terms of hair growth different with sugar wax vs regular wax? Ultimately are they not both types of wax with the same properties? What’s the exact reason for this? (I love how much effort you have put into these videos BTW; you’ve done like STEM level analysis for everything. You are a problem-solver extraordinaire.)
@abetweene2 күн бұрын
the application and removal are different because they dont have the same properties. in fact, sugar wax isnt wax at all (i use that term because its what people are familar with and helps label it for its intended use) in short they behave differently, but to be fair i also question if the manner in which traditional wax is used is appropriate.
@CuriousGazelleКүн бұрын
@ I would love to see you experiment with the traditional wax (maybe the wax beads). I also questioned whether we have the direction of application/pulling correct in the traditional wax after watching your sugar wax videos. Seems too weird that the same principle won’t apply to both.

If it fades think about dying the covers instead of replacing them. 😊 Remember to put salt in the dye water so the color sets and bleeds less when rinsing. I used to dye EVERYTHING as a teen. 😊

i can see a shadow through the transparency of the skin. the best thing i can equate it to is a drinking glass. u can tell how thick it is by the way light passes through the rim; i see the same with the skin around my nails.

what to do with the smell . i didn't like the pure smell of shea butter with natural oils
@abetweene4 күн бұрын
if your shea butter is refined, its been processed to remove most of its natural smell. some carriers oils dont have what most would consider a naturally pleasant smell and can be quite earthy, but u can impart your own scent with essential or fragrance oils.
@nadasalamaadam62474 күн бұрын

@abetweene5 күн бұрын
what type of bumps? are they white, flesh colored, hard, soft?
@arpitapatidar35394 күн бұрын
There are 2-3 ingrown hair and bumps are like your second most viewed video of underarm wax that model had small bumps ,very similar to she had
@abetweene4 күн бұрын
ok, the one where i waxed my friend, she doesnt have ingrowns so im unsure if i know what youre referring to. if there is a trapped hair under the skin you can do hot compresses or epsom salt baths to help coerce the hair to the surface so u can see and pluck it. but if u notice these bumps immediately after sugaring like on my friend, its general inflammation from pulling the hair out. the folicles swells as a histamine response from the injury, but will subside.

Ooh this may be my issue. Too stiff to start. I will try heating it up a little to see if that helps the process. Might help me spread it thinner so it will flick up easier maybe. After it warms up, it tends to get all over my fingers. Very sticky mess. Might get something to spread it with like a Popsicle stick.

ive tried making my own sugar wax and it just didn't work. i used it on clean skin, used baby powder, heated the wax until it was thick, everything. It just sticks like honey right after being applied. i don't know what I'm doing wrongggggg 😭

Thanks to your recipe, I made firm paste my first try. It is gonna take me a while to get used to knowing when to toss the paste. It is hard to speread at first. Works well for a bit and then warms up too much and glues to my skin. And doesnt want to flick up. It pulled my skin a bit too hard. I probably just gave myself bruises. Gonna give my skin a day or so to recover. Probably warm it up and do strips for waxing instead of flicking to finish up and try the paste again when it grows back in. Keep forgetting to pull taut as well. I am used to using an epilator but it causes too much breakage and ingrowns. Figued inwould try this. Big learning curve haha.

How do you prevent the cold sugar from melting while trying to use it?
@abetweene4 күн бұрын
short answer is u dont. it naturally softens from the change in temperature from our body heat, so to compensate you should start off with a firmer paste. if it melts to the point its to melted to use, its underdone/ not the consistency u need, so u can reheat that batch to make it firmer

My partner uses the As I Am oil like the shampoo you used and it really helped along with some regular drugstore dandruff shampoo. Would you be willing to make a video about things that work for your ADHD and maintaining your health and/or work-life balance? I've been in a bit of a slump and I find hearing about other ADHDers techniques helps me. If you don't feel comfortable talking more about it I completely understand since it's not the focus of your channel.

Greetings I have a problem to make a good butter with the following formulation: Mango butter Macadamia butter Argan oil Cottonseed oil Grape oil Castor oil St. John's wort oil Cetyl alcohol Beeswax Absorbs well, but does not hydrate. The skin is rough and dry. It doesn't feel good on the skin. I'm very annoyed that it's like that and I put a lot of nice oils. Can cetyl alcohol dry out the skin? Why is that so? Thanks in advance for your reply

@abetweene I left that as a note for myself because I was going to try sugar waxing for the first time today, didn't expect you to reply 😭 I did it and though I failed a bit at parts I was getting better each time and I'm going to try again tomorrow. Overall even though I failed in certain areas I have to agree this is the most effective method (relatively less painful to regular waxing too) and it makes your skin feel good too. I think the only difficulty is when it comes to waxing regions you can't see - like your back. I've been using different videos of yours as a guide and I know I'm gonna get better at this if I follow through ☆
