what do you call this style ? does it have an official term? the independent thumb bass, with melody on top... whether its thumb-pick, hybrid, bare thumb...

This is a great jam but obviously you may not have heard a Grateful Dead and or Jerry Garcia jam or a Coltrane or Mingus or Steve Kimock jam That’s a bit more extensive and astral But as Bob Dylan said “Keep on growing” {🔥}:=}
