Love the Ranger build bro. I really enjoy seeing older, everyday cars get love and attention to keep what we have on the road.

Despite the fact that you do everything on the floor and almost only use standard power tools, the result is impressive. Greetings from a trained car mechanic from Germany 👌

Only 11 minutes in, I wonder why you decided not to go ahead and replace main bearings and rings while the engine is mostly disassembled?
@FLManGarage3 күн бұрын
I plan to build a 6.0 for this truck at some point. Didnt want to spend the time and money on this high mileage 5.3. It doesnt smoke and has good oil pressure. Its a slippery slope, bearings and rings require removing the head, then head and block should be decked, if pistons are out should bore cylinders etc etc

That hitting mat us way to thin. That's going to give you tennis elbow and be hard on your wrist, elbow, and shoulder.
@FLManGarage3 күн бұрын
Been using it for a year and wrist elbow and shoulder all still good 👍🏻 but i agree its not the best mat in the world

This was a great video. I was wondering why you replaced the brake booster once and then replaced it again?

Thanks so much!! The way it was mounted caused the seal to rip and it had a constant vacuum leak that was hissing

The only thing I would have fixed the rust holes in bottom of the fender and doors
@FLManGarage8 күн бұрын
The doors were too far gone to be repaired, would have to get new doors at $700 a piece and then they wouldn’t match the rest of the truck. With the rust treatment and paint, i dont see the doors getting any worse especially since the truck is stored indoors and not driven in the rain. There are no electronics in the door so i dont see it being an immediate issue! Thank you for your view and comment!

inspired me to maybe take some time and do this when summer comes just cleaning things up might help it last longer! you should also look into getting a bearing packer! they are so nice. there’s minimal mess and very convenient. i got one after replacing the rotors in mine. i have a 2000 ranger. solid little truck

Dude. This was awesome to watch. I recently bought a 2010 Ranger and I’d love to learn how to work on it down the road. What is the best way to learn? KZbin? Courses? I know almost nothing about cars 😂

Thanks for your support! Yes! Absolutely, best way to learn is on KZbin, just search for whatever you are looking to do and follow along with their steps! Anyone can learn, hardest part is just starting!

Really nice work. I did my tie rods on the 94 ranger and ended up going in for a wheel alignment. How is it working for you, measuring the lengths? Are you going to check the rear axle seals for leakage? I had to replace the seals. Good job using the yellow pen to mark your work. This video brought back a lot of memories! The only issue I did not like on the ranger was the hydraulic clutch, it always leaked. Anyway, good job!!!!
@FLManGarage11 күн бұрын
Thanks so much for your comment and support! I got an alignment done on the truck, i was just measuring to get it close enough to go to alignment shop! The rear axle seals are not currently leaking, but it might be a good preventative maintenance thing to do next! My clutch is not leaking at the moment, so hopefully it stays good! Will eventually be replacing the entire clutch system at some point!
