Hey love I’m new to your channel. I am I loctician in atl and I think your pic are gorgeous. The reason your locs are not maturing quickly is because you’re using conditioner. The purpose of conditioner is to detangle and with locs we want our hair to tangle, using conditioner slows down that process. An alternative solution would be to use rose water spray for moisture. Good luck on your journey!

I apologize, but I'm having trouble following the content of the video. You didn't exactly state why, Was it too many locks? Did you not like interlocking? Did you not like the length or the size? You were talking about what you did...but you never stated specifically why.
@felamarie9 ай бұрын
I mentioned my foundation the primary reason and I didn’t want to combine them. Yes this is due to the parting and size of my locs being split at the beginning of my journey. Interlocking made my locs feel hard and more condensed… but it was most convenient starting my journey. I’m not opposed to interlocking but when doing so with the thinner locs it was risky. Please let me know if this response provides the clarity you were seeking. Thanks for tuning in.❣️

Honestly, I’ve also been thinking about combing my micro locs out as well. These are my second set I’ve had install July 2023. The first time I combed them bout was because of my scalp acting up after having them installed, combed them out and went to a dermatologist to figure things out but almost two months later I found out I was pregnant so I wasn’t able to get the help I sought out. I knew being pregnant I would not want to really deal with my hair and I wanted to start over with my locs so I got them installed again July 2023. But after months I’m starting to think it would be easier to cater and take care of my scalp better with loose natural hair instead.

@@felamarieI think I spoke with you before about my micro locs. I started with tiny finger coils. About 455 of them. Starting micro locs with coils are AMAZING! I hear a lot of people say you can't do it but it's a lie because I have and they are really small. Locs in the 200 range would be easier to maintain I suppose. I retwist mine because just like you, I had holes throughout my head which discouraged me at first but after going through section by section and fixing them with my crochet needle, I don't have that issue anymore and just told myself to leave the interlocking alone. I actually like the look of my micros with being retwisted and how they swell up because I'm all about fullness and volume but still want them tiny. Have fun on your new journey 😊

Brush your locs and stop using products if you do. Also, I agree with you with the overwhelming process of maintaining micro locs. I started my micro locs myself and was pulled into that "trap" of interlocking. I went for it and gave the heck up. Decided to just retwist them and that took the stress off of me. I have 455 and started with tiny finger coils. Coils is one of the fastest methods to locking hair. I'm only a month and 1 week in and I kid you not, my coils are already budding. I'm still fixing some locs that I created holes in. It's not many but yeah, that's another reason why I said "forget interlocking". I still have half my head undid and it took me more than a week to do the ones that I did. Thankfully, there's a crochet needle that fixes the holes or I would be screwed 🤣. I wouldn't change my micro locs decision though. It's been one of the best hair decisions EVER 😁
