I watch numerous adventures on you tube and noticed that these people in dilemma countering so many would be attacks by unknown creatures but the dumpbess thing is they just ran without weapons!

When setting bullet depth, always make sure it's being set with a full plate (cartridge in every stage) otherwise your seating depth won't be consistent

Nice job. Great info. I have wondered about Brass Juice. It looks good right after cleaning, but, how about a year later? If I do the Lemishine they look great right after cleaning, however, after a year they are gray.

Thanks for the setup help. I’m trying to gather basic information. I’ve never reloaded , even though I’ve been around it some . I inherited my Grandfather‘s reloading set up. 550, with several rifle dies already in tool holders with the tall powder holders .

It's as simple of not running dirty brass thru your gun, dirty brass leads to more carbon more wear and possibly function cycling problems.

Uhh, your Inline Fab side plates are backwards. Im guessing you wanted the press not to hang over the front of your bench? Obviously it seems to function. Just wondering.

I’m just wondering fairly new at reloading but just wondering I’ve seen some guys don’t even tumble or clean it after they’ve resized their brass with lube is that safe for the powder or does it affect any? Thanks for any information

Not sure if most people on the comments really believe this is a great info video or they just wanted to hear that it’s okay that they don’t take all the steps to get that brass as clean as it could be. Seems like some just wanted validation. Lmao! I don’t mean everyone! But if it upsets you, then I mean you. If one is already going to do something, might as well do it to the best of their ability. I just watched a video I think from F class John where he left tumbling media in his primer pocket or flash hole (rice) and it did little to nothing in affecting performance or accuracy out at distance so maybe all the steps I take to prepare my brass aren’t beneficial for anything but piece of mind.? 🤷🏻‍♂️

Clean is clean enough for sure, the longer I reload the more shiny I appreciate my brass! haha. an extra half hour in the tumbler if you have time is nice.

I tumble with dawn and a pinch of Lemi Shine. Dry with a towel (put the brass in a towel and clean it like a bowling ball) and then air dry for a day or two. I don't deprime or clean my 9mm pockets before I clean the brass. I normally don't have issues repriming but you have to be sure you let them dry or you may still have water in you primer pocket (I learned that the hard way). I do deprime my rifle brass before I reload. I've just found that the rifle cases take a bit more TLC to get right. So I deprime, clean the brass, then clean/size the primer pocket, then reload. Don't have issues when I do it that way.

hello, your video is amazing and you are a professional at presenting it, i am learning to speak english and also learning how to reload, i purchased a brand new lyman all 8, i have a question, the ram in my press makes a small sound, as if the front part of the ram is slightly touching the ram hole, its not interfering with its function, but just bothers me a bit, do you know if its normal ? i mailed lyman and they says its normal, heres a 18 seconds video: kzbin.infoLKOgocIWTTQ?feature=share

I watched your video. Sounds like it just needs to be lubed. Put just drop or 2 of oil then spread it around with you fingers all around then ram. Less is more when it comes to oil. Both my rock chucker and this press will do that if I don’t use them for a month or 2. Other possibility is you got some very fine powder in there

In LEE's Modern Reloading Manual, Richard Lee claims " I have never found any evidence that clean cases shoot one bit better than dirty cases". I think it comes down to esthetics and perhaps even a bit of obsession to each individual.

How clean does your brass need to be? How clean does your bedroom need to be, your car, etc... The point is you can get 100 answers. This question deserves another. What type of shooting are you doing? If you're going to a club bench rest competition you want every advantage and you may spend a little bit of extra time getting your brass clean. But for casual plinking, then I agree that not much time needs to be spent here. For me personally, I mostly reload for accuracy and there is satisfaction in doing a very good job.

New to reloading here. I give my cases a wash in Dawn , hot water and citric acid for about 2 hours to knock off heavy crud. After drying they go into a dry tumble after decap/resize to smooth the case . Couple hours in walnut shells. Cases are clean and ready to process. Sure they come out shiny but not jewelry grade. Had a reload guy say the goal is to clean the inside and smooth out the outside of the case. Primer pocket can be cleaned with the tool if need be.

Just bought a box of 556 that is super tarnished. Winchester 5.56 m855. Should I be concerned for the age of the ammo? Off hand, from a quick look, I would say no, it makes no difference if brass is tarnished.

The problem I have when I clean the brass, is that there is always some corn cob stuck in the flash hole. How do you deal with that problem? Why don’t you do a video about what happens when you reload a rifle round and tumbling media remains/lodged in the brass. How it effects pressure, accuracy, and how likely it is to blow up the gun. You make awesome videos and I'm most grateful for all the work you do.🧐

I just paid 34 cents per round for 9mm ammo. When you consider the time involved in reloading the cases, is it really worth it? Would reloading be worthwhile only for those who shoot a lot? If so, have you calculated how many rounds a month you have to shoot to make reloading financially feasible? I do, however, appreciate the work you did in making the video.

Doesn't really matter how much it shines , rather, you want to make sure it doesn't have carbon, dirt , etc left behind . The range I go to is all gravel and i wouldn't want rounds going thru my gun that are covered in gravel dust ! 👍

Feeding issues Say a 9mm for instance. If grime, corrosion or carbon or lube remain on the casing the residual will build op inside the chamber of your barrel over time. This will lead to things like stuck cases (failure to eject) Rifle rounds will do the same but the bottle neck shoulder will build up robbing you of very valuable head space and a fully seated bolt along with ejection issues

Mount the powder on the press! You don't want to remove cartridges from the press that defeats the poupous of the turret press. I use a dipper when possible and pour it in when I expand the neck, if no neck expander, then I mount the powder dispenser on the press.
