Pretty cool seeing a big smile on his face! My youngest son & I were just looking at my 1982 Honda XL250r this weekend. It's been sitting in my dad's garage since early college days? (I'm 50). I think we are going to try and get it running again. Hopefully, the gas tank isn't all rusted. It's in pretty good shape other than the right side of the gas tank is dented and the front left single light is missing. I do not remember how that stuff happened.

so much corruption everywhere. I'm sure it's leaking out from Commifornia and other surrounding states. New York and New England is the same way Anywhere and anything that can be exploited will because it's low hanging fruit. I may have to rethink my planned trip to Utah. It's very unfortunate that people feel the need to destroy good things.

Awesome outcome glad ride Utah supported these changes. However, could you find a better person to do your videos? This guy rambles on looks all over the place takes 10 minutes of the video to get to the point. He’s all hat and no cows. Get rid of the hat you might have some credibility.

Not the Qugga Muscles! That happened like a Year ago! That particular SERGEANT was known to the Community as an @$$hole! but the DA / County Attorney dismissed all charges and NOTHING happened to the SERGEANT other than he got promoted to Lieutenant!! DWFNR = Department of Wildlife Fisheries Natural Resources is ALWAYS trying to put charges on anyone they can! Recreation Rangers?? Fake Government Agents? sounds like the ATF.

Definitely not like wisconson DNR. Wi. DNR has more power than a regular cop and they are NASTY! makes the german ss look like a bunch of girlscouts! My dad was always in a tussle with them. They would finally get him to the point where he told them if they come back again to bring b*dyb*gs for the lot of them. He hated them with a passion right along with most all land owners and farmers in wi.

Utah has always been a bunch of corrupt faction versus faction LDS bru ha ha. You did not effect change in the way that you intended as a representative of recreationalists from inside and outside of Utah. The State just rearranged personnel and job descriptions to obfuscate and slap a fresh layer of gray paint law that allows for the heavy-handed LDS to continue to punk out taxpayers that just want to relieve the stress of paying for a government that puts boots on their necks.

Ride Utah ? Here is my complaint to pass along. Noise. I am a hiker, camper, canoeist. Unmuffled POS all day long and often all night long,, No excuse. There is zero reason why these vehicles need to make noise. Put a muffler on them. I walked there,, I paddled there,, and yes,, I am always envious that someone had breakfast in Moab and is now where it took me two weeks to get to. That's on me. But listening to the roar or chainsaw like racket 20 hours a day and from 10 miles away. Nope. Don't like it one bit. Should not be allowed. And there is no reason why they cannot where a muffler.

Funny how all these improper police enforcement issues in the many comments always happen in the popular tourist areas of Utah. Could it just be a money making situation? On the flip side consider the Bonneville Salt Flats, supposedly under BLM jurisdiction but the people that trash the area are never caught and prosecuted. But the one time per year when many people are out there to enjoy it, amazingly multiple Rangers show up to hand out speeding tickets on the access road.

its the same with traffic stops 9 out of 10 people just pay the fine instead of going to court and fighting it..And your right even if your in violation or said so..get legal help and fight it..at best they may reduce your fine or just drop it..Peace..

That Power TRIPPING DNR officer should be FIRED AND HAVE HIS POST CERTIFICATE REVOKED FOREVER. Absolutely NO logic with that old boat ,especially when it was OUT OF THE WATER FOR YEARS. Cop is a JOKE. He probably abuses his wife, kids, girlfriend as well as his buddies. Probably has arrested his own Mother 😮

Red states are Police states. The voters in these states have let law enforcement do whatever they wanted. After decades of doing this you are going to have to fight for decades to get your freedom back.

Just another person given a uniform and a small amount of power and all common sense regarding those laws they enforce disappear and we end up with the Fab Rat situation. The D.W.R. officer knew damn well what he was doing by confronting the Fab Rats. Notoriety. He thought the letter of the law over-rode charity and a good act from caring people.

This is a simple money grab. Somebody at DNR figured out they could just write and mail out tickets willy nilly and most people just pay it to make it go away. That person started telling other possum cops about it and they started doing. Bet if somebody investigated their tickets over the past 10 years you will find a bunch of money coming in from bogus tickets.

I know very little about this issue, but I get the impression that the officers got very cozy with the idea that they could cite and fine anyone on sketchy issues and dangle an opportunity to pay a fine. They did this full well knowing 98 % of the victim’s would rather pay a fine than get neck deep into the quagmire to fight it. Why did the officers do this? My guess is the incentive of filling their own coffers . Or maybe their just a bit power mad.. Just like the small town speed traps we hear about. You know, where the sheriff, judge, tow truck company owner is the same person. It’s great that fab rats double downed on their bluff. Less government is the way to go. Although this resulted in an additional law, it did set in motion the process needed to control these runaway regulators..

its not appropriate to forgo making necessary changes because it might take way retirement compensation. if it was illegitimate form the start it makes no sense to keep legitimizing it.

Loss of retirement benefits that the government agreed to provide employees is a huge issue to me. That said you would think there would be some mechanism to allow the state to meet it's obligations regarding retirement while still being able to re-org itself.

Those people that have dedicated their lives to working for the state need to feel the exact same pain the rest of us in the civilian world feel, i.e. you can be fired at any time or funding can be terminated for your job at any time. Because they are insulated from this is the reason why they become arrogant in how they treat the public and create useless sub-organizations to hire their friends and relatives. Bottom line the Sheriff is the elected law enforcement of the county and all law enforcement needs to be administered by the Sheriff period. This kind of heavy handedness by non-elected officials and the co-towing by the Sheriff to these non-elected officials is the exact reason I no longer use BLM land, state, or federal land here in Wyoming, I don't have any more patience left for this BS. Hats off to your accomplishments Ride Utah, but needs to go further IMO.

It's good to learn that Paul Cox's situation led to the discovery and elimination of inefficiency in the state's affairs. What the DNR officer was trying to do in Paul's case seems appropriate but misguided, since the officer wasn't properly familiar with quagga mussels. and his agency's notion of courtroom evidence was inadequate. My recollection of the case is that Paul dragged home a small boat hull thoroughly dried out by being long ashore and carrying dead mussels that the DNR agent mistakenly considered viable.

The boat was dry and sun baked for over one year, the law states some thing about 30 days or less, it must be cleaned/inspected. So the officer was a clown.

Other states already have that model, Utah was behind the times; sounds like about 40 years behind based on your audits. I don't agree that the sheriff should be contacted befor any enforcement actions, it should have limitations of what requires sheriff involvement.

A lot of government agency are just a massive Job Corps. Reports, comms, little projects they spent money on like drunk sailors; mostly all busy work. Law enforcement is a large part of this waste. Their biggest chore is to collect their wages and benefits in this workfare scheme. A private business would have this rat's nest of waste squared away the next day.

Really seems pretty simple. They are fund raisers. Scavengers trying to accumulate wealth in unscrupulous ways. The d.n.r. seems to operate the same way in other states as well. I wonder if they get a part of the money, or if they just got picked on in school and want to have control over people. I know some guys in law enforcement in my area. Some of them are great guys i would trust with my life. Others would stab you in the back for 20$ and a handful of pain pills. If they paid them more, the good ones would stay. But the good cops dont want to do it anymore, because they get treated the same as the thieving dingleberrys.

I do believe that there needs to be “fish cops” from the DNR to monitor wild life and support that, but I definitely agree those “fish cops” need to be supervised by law enforcement. As an avid fisherman (opps-woman) I see people out in the wilderness poaching, and harming our lands, but I also feel like and have personally been interrogated by DNR law enforcement in ways where they tried to intimidate and basically bully me, and felt I had no recourse of action. What happened to Paul and Michelle was incomprehensible and good on them for fighting it. There definitely needs to be accountability for those renegade so called officers.

I think the day is coming where access to public lands and water is going to be heavily restricted for the protection against invasive species whether it exists or not. Some national parks in Canada have already restricted lake access to where nothing is allowed on the water except their own tour boats. Its probably a matter of time before these restrictions are implemented on more lakes.

I’m a retired LEO. States need to learn that they are only hurting themselves with a heavy handed approach to law enforcement of recreational activities in public areas. It absolutely does leave a bad taste in the mouth of tourists who are often unfairly targeted with dumb, obscure regulations that seemingly exist for no other reason than to harass tourists. Had such an experience in Yellowstone national park with some overzealous park rangers while just trying to enjoy some quiet time. I’ll never spend another dime there.
