Purchases a crew cab pick up just to turn the backseat into basically just more bed space... I swear people these days just absolutely refuse to buy a single cab with the 8ft bed!

Morelia is a very nice city. I have lived in Michoacan since 2004. I live far out in the woods off-grid in a rural area. It is fine.

hey thank you for bringin up the propane heater. i've been doing vanlife with a chinese diesel heater, had to fix this thing 3 times although i'm forever grateful for the warmth it's given me on past trips. i don't know what resistance i have left regarding non-diesel heaters...but this is the third recommendation i've heard for specifically this Dickinson heater.

Great looking rig! Just found your series on the flatbed. I might have missed it but what is the total weight with the camper?

Thanks Nate! Fully loaded we can creep up into the 11,500-11,700 range which is a hair over our GVWR of 11,400.

Hey guys, just curious if you guys had the title for your truck when you were crossing borders or were you able to do it with a letter from your lender if your truck was financed? Thanks!

I’m Mexican, from Mexico City, but fell badly in love with Morelia when I was 21 (I’m 28 now) I first started going there for an ex girlfriend who studied there, I was doing the trip like every week or 2 weeks, and sometimes staying for 1 or 2 months at a time, that lasted for about 4 years, and then I moved there for work, it was my dream to live there and from the very beginning I enjoyed the city so much, the food, the people, the mercados, and for someone who truly truly loves walking with no purpose Morelia is just amazing, I now live all the way in the north and miss Morelia so much, hope I can someday go back to stay.

Hey, sorry for the WAY LATE question, but is your Ram a 6 1/4' bed or an 8' bed? I am just about to purchase a 2500 AEV. I want this exact Bowen setup for my FWC Hawk slide in. Thanks in advance for any info. GREAT looking rig and wonderful walkaround.
@TheMortells5 ай бұрын
Hey sorry just seeing this comment - our Ram is an 8' bed model. If you have a Hawk then you can probably get away with the 6.5' bed. We love our Bowen bed and highly recommend them!

I was wondering, now that you have had the Bowen build for some time now, if you had second thoughts about the 8 foot bed based on your application. Have there been regrets, or does the garage make up for the cons? I'm considering a similar build and would value any feedback. Thank you kindly.
@TheMortells2 ай бұрын
No regret at all, it is a great set up and we have loved it! We have only had to 3 or 4 point turn a couple of times through smaller villages but for the most part the turning radius isn't too bad!

There's another company out of CA called "Nook Vans", they build overland/adventure vans. Could be confusing.

Thanks for the heads up! We became aware of this after establishing our business entity, but we figured the names, products offered, and geographic locations were different enough that it would hopefully minimize potential confusion.

Just stumbled on your channel looking for info on Morelia. That is so cool that you travel with your pets, especially your cat (crazy cat lady here!). I am wondering about the logistics of that. Your kitty must be pretty mellow and I would imagine you got him(?) used to traveling at a young age. Helps that he’s orange 😸 Anyway, good luck on your travels and have fun!

Hey there! Yes we got pretty lucky with how chill Walker is. It did take some time for him to get comfortable to traveling but he isn't the type of cat that tries to run away so that makes life on the road a lot easier. We have met quite a few traveling cats on the road the last couple of years!

Thanks for visiting Morelia, is a beautiful city but of course insecurity has always it own, so much to deal with the local people, just the only thing that I know is the most security parts from Morelia City is the southside.

Are you guys running an AC? If so what, and how did u install? I've seen recently scout has started stating to contact them about AC if you want it. Just curious how yours was done, and how its being powered. Sorry for all the questions just love the camper, and really want one. Here in Iowa it gets way to hot and humid for my wife or kids to sleep without ac. Any info price if your willing would be AWESOME!!!
@TheMortells7 ай бұрын
Hey there, yes we are running at 12v ac unit and we did a significant power upgrade as well. Here is a video with some details: kzbin.info/www/bejne/paathHSlhLKUn68 Shoot us a message on Instagram or Facebook and we can chat more about other AC options that we have seen.

Awesome video. How’s it holding up over time? Also is it possible to screw things to the panels inside? Like make your own coat hanger brackets and such?
@TheMortells6 ай бұрын
We sold our Olympic over 2 years ago but our Kenai has been holding up great for the last 2 years. We mount a lot of things on the wall with double sided tape or command strips. If we are mounting anything heavier than a couple of lbs then we will through bolt it and have a backing plate on the other side of the wall to spread out the weight.

Hey guys. Just caught your video. I'm looking at getting a camper and scout yoho is on the list. Question is about the Newport heater. The other ones have diesel.. then I saw yours. What size is it?? Thanks
@TheMortells6 ай бұрын
Hey there - yes the new campers have the diesel heater option. Our Newport i believe is the P9000 model. It works great but the benefit to the diesel heater is you have a thermostat so you don't have to get up and turn on/off the heater like we have to do.
