When I was in Elementary School and in Occupational Therapy, we used Handwritng Without Tears. Looking at it now, for some reason it makes me feel nostalgic, but without it I definitely wouldn't be as good with cursive as I am now. I still get complements about my writing to this day, and that's hard to believe as I once thought I would never learn to write. It was just so hard! But, I definitely think it is one of the best handwriting programs out there and would definitely reccomened it to any kid (even a high schooler).

I LOVE to mix up our homeschooling with an occasional unschooling week. It is SO MUCH FUN, so intentional, and such a great way to RESET. I personally read my kids cues, and when I see he is growing bored, ok next week is an unschooling week. And every single time we do this, HE SOARS. 💛 love love love unschooling to shake things up and reinvigorate my sons education experience and sense of adventure in his learning 💛

Glad you're family and home are safe. Most of my family went through the eye in Manatee and Sarasota counties. My sister's neighborhood has trees down all over the place, but none fell on a house! I'm definitely thanking God for protecting my family and their homes.

Ok, I'm confused. The New Testament, Jesus's life and ministry on Earth, took place during the Roman Empire timeframe, during the first century, the predominant earthly power in the region, was Rome, and the Romans came after and copied from the Greeks. Which means that these ideas were already in swirling in society at that time. Most of the initial gentile converts were Roman and possibly still Greek, you had Hellanized Jews and things like that. I'm an Orthodox Christian, lots to explain there but the important bit for now is that it is very action, very fruits of the spirit focused, and anything that didn't encourage that would be thrown away, especially when it comes to the education of Children but many of the Orthodox K-12 schools and curriculums that exist are Classical in content and structure. Think for a second about when the model you call Classical Education today, initially developed, the Renaissance, and then it resurged during the Enlightenment in the West. It focused on Greek Philosophy because the thinkers of the day were interested in that. They were suddenly reintroduced to what they saw as a world of knowledge and progress that the Dark Ages had stolen from them. Just the objections you raise here don't make sense.

Some individuals claim to be followers of Jesus Christ while simultaneously wearing or displaying the star of Remphan. This juxtaposition raises concerns about their true allegiance and understanding of biblical teachings. Idolatry and Biblical Warning The Bible warns against idolatry and the worship of false gods (Exodus 20:4-5, Deuteronomy 4:15-24). The star of Remphan, associated with the ancient Mesopotamian god Saturn, is explicitly mentioned in Acts 7:43 as an idol worshiped by some Israelites in the wilderness. This biblical account serves as a cautionary tale about the dangers of idolatry and the importance of exclusive devotion to the one true God. Christians and Idolatry As followers of Jesus Christ, believers are called to reject idolatry and worship only the one true God (1 Corinthians 10:14-22). Wearing or displaying the star of Remphan, regardless of its intended meaning or symbolism, can be seen as a form of idolatry, contradicting a Christian’s profession of faith in Jesus. Conclusion For those who claim to believe in Jesus yet wear the star of Remphan, it is essential to examine their understanding of biblical teachings and their commitment to exclusive devotion to God. Christians are called to reject idolatry and instead wear symbols that reflect their faith in Jesus Christ, such as the cross or other approved Christian emblems.

Lol it never crossed my mind to count on a curriculum to teach the Bible to my kids. I used level K to 4 of TGATB and my kids and I loved it! Yes, it is watered down but I come from raising 5 kids that never homeschooled and had zero faith in public school curriculum. So for me, TGATB is truly good and beautiful for my last 2 kids, I don't need it to be teaching more of the Bible because we have always done this outside of "school". Additionally, TGATB includes some social studies just enough to cover what the government requires for grade 1-2 here in Qc.

I had Abeka in early elementary school and found it too easy. When I switched schools, the curriculum was so much more challenging. This was back in the ‘80s though so things may have changed.
