Thanks for the previews! Finished my Speedway T-bucket a month ago. Are you finding the tie rod is hitting the frame due to bumps in the road? At rest I have 3/4” of spacing but the bumps hit it. Setting the rod below the brackets won’t fit. I might have to try and bend both brackets. Ideas?

You know I'm really glad that you brought that up because I brought that up with them and they told me that they've never heard of that so either I assembled it wrong or it's actually truly a design flaw. Over although I've got about 10,000 MI on my frame and I haven't had any issues but that Rod does rub. Haven't figured a fix for that yet. I'm honestly glad I'm not the only one so I know I'm not going crazy. No ideas yet on how to fix it but it's something I'll be looking at here pretty soon. So far I've just kind of been living with it the only thing I noticed is just a few small scratches but it doesn't really cause any issues anywhere else.

Pro-Tip: He has a hood deflector on his Blazer. I tried this without a hood deflector, and the hood didn't shut properly. Had to adjust it accordingly, and it doesn't look as good. I recommend getting the deflector so you can see the light bar, as shown in the video. Question: How do you close the fuse box without cutting the wire? Mine closes, but the fuse box cover is a pretty snappy fit. Afraid that the red wire will be cut if I close the box.

Great video GHG! Just a question, I found this video while looking for a solution to this problem. I was very impressed by this video and checked out your channel. You have a video where you already replaced the check valves in the hoses but not long after you replaced the hoses and again the check valves... So what's the actual cause? The hoses or check valves? Not at all calling you out your videos are wonderfully clear but I'd be indebted if you could clear this up. Are the valves the issue, or the hoses?
@GearHeadzGarageUSA
@GearHeadzGarageUSA 14 күн бұрын
It's a combination of both but the real issue is the poor design on the pressure system. That being said the issue is cavitation and you must eliminate cavitation and the check valves will do that. That was GMs fix for the cooling issue.......but; must ask yourself is your coolant actually cavitating or do you need a head gasket? Both the cavitation and the head gasket will cause cooling issues. I could go on and on but it's really a process of elimination.. the LNF is a great motor but prone to 2 main issues..... cooling and head gaskets. What are your symptoms?

@@GearHeadzGarageUSA Hats off to you sir! A channel owner that responds that fast and actually cares?! You've got a sub! Not sure of the year, it's my employers car and it's had O.H. problems for 3 years. The disgusting part is I'm in the trade and the dealership told her it's an electric water pump and it's failed because the module connected to it has failed. That's what's really pissed me off! I know the pumps mechanical but when a stearlership sees a woman they strike. It's a V6 Turbo. Symptoms: Overheating while driving. Although I've been loosely in and out of the auto world over the years once I heard the dealer claim it was an electric water pump I immediately took notice and sought out a reasonable explanation. It's still at the dealership with my employer thinking it's a big issue but now I know where to draw the line troubleshooting. First thing to do is a compression check, if it passes we're ordering the new updated check valves and hoses you suggested. Even if something else is wrong it's a much cheaper way to start! Thank you so much for answering my message and sharing your knowledge! Mad respect from Ontario Canada

I just did this! I never removed the entire fender,; leave it intact at the passenger door. Remove the fasteners on the other 3 sides then just loosen the fender bracket at the forward end, unhook it and have an assitant gently pull it away so that you can slide the battery out horizontally. Afterwards no fender alignment required either.
